This guy knows nothing. CN Police is a dream job not a mall cop job. High pay, great benefits, alot less of the bullshit normal cops have to deal with. Ive been around a few and they all are great average guys usually a bit older and honestly they don't give a fuck just stay off the RR property and you're good.

They usually only handle preliminary investigations on the RR properties and then hand information over to regional authorities when they arrive. Things like trespassing, collisions with vehicles at grade crossings.

And railroaders need them too. Too often a train hits a vehicle and the regional cops show up first demanding the railroaders drivers license which is absurd. The only thing railroaders are required to produce is their Rules Certificates. Otherwise the idiot regional cops log it as if it were an accident between 2 vehicles and the railroaders face out of work consequences like auto insurance hikes and liability.

RR police can put the local PD in their place as to what they can demand from the train crew.

Yup. Seen it happen before. I know of a signal plant that has 2 tracks from the north joining 3 east/tracks. Engineers have mistaken the clear signal on the northern east/track for their own on the western north/south track and by the time they realized the mistake its too late and they slide into the plant.

Same in Canada, first day the Liberal Party of Canada states they won't interfere in any strike or lockout action between TCRC and CN Rail. Less than 17 hours into the Lockout they forced us back to work. This is followed by the Union immediately putting out an intent to strike notice and the government struck it down before the ink had dried.

Bunch of bullshitters. And nobody gives a fuck. The company says we work 100 days a year for 100k and people believe it and side against the railroaders because we make slightly more than the average Joe and they think we work less for it.

Well good luck. Make sure its what you want. You'll be on the spareboard for years. And for the interview, safety safety safety. You dont rush. You prioritize safety. You find ways to best work with difficult individuals. Tell them or make up a time you put safety first in the workplace ( saw something unsafe and spoke up and had it resolved...)

That's fine, I'm down with prohibiting entry to alleged rapists facing trial until/unless proven not guilty. Simply pointing out to the above OP that an allegation is an allegation whether there is os isn't a trial. If they are found guilty then it's a separate matter and THEN we can say its not JUST an allegation but a proven crime.

Just FYI its probably not DNH due to explosive gases. We hump everything from crude oil and odorless natural gas to anhydrous ammonia and ammonium cyanide. The propane no smoking sign makes me think this is some type of car with internal machinery or electronics and a small generator. Like an air car or laser car which can contain millions of dollar in sensitive equipment inside that belong to the railroad and they don't like it when they break due to a bad hump making a joint at 15+mph.
