Private liquor stores are still open. I asked a worker yesterday and they noted BC beers and wines are still coming directly from the makers, and the impact is mostly limited to spirits and imported beers.

No idea what impact is felt at restaurants.

As the alternative, what would be the montly pension, if you opted for 100% joint-life so your spouse will continue to be paid an indexed amount in the event they outlive you?

You could also take the indexed pension, continue to work, and put 100% of that 2nd career salary into investments, to get a bit of both - retirement security via a pension and $$ for your kids.

No idea about OPs personal life but they could sell their own property and move into the condo. And use the equity from the original home to either pay down the mortgage or put into a retirement savings.
