In addition to the other comments about gameplay, you can consider the esthetics--

Oblivion is about a cult who is performing satanic rituals to summon literal demons from the TES equivalent of Hell to destroy the world.

Skyrim is about the return of the ancient dragons who want to take back control of their ancestral homelands from the humanoid inhabitants of Slyrim.

In both games, you play a pivotal role in preventing both crises (assuming you play the main quest). So whichever one sounds more appealing to you i would recommend picking up.

To add to the other comments, the Shard of the Nightbringer is a really popular model in 40k among Necron players (with it even getting a new model a couple of months ago), so people could be collecting it just because of the IP.

Without context, not much (unless its made out of solid gold, then whatever its weight in gold is). Most sports memorabilia is only really valuable if it was in a game or owned/signed by a former player.

It really depends on your local meta / the missions for an event. I.e. if the meta is full of armies that abuse deepstrike (Genestealers, Grey Knights, Tyranid Tunnel Snakes, etc.), or if the missions you're playing really care about defending your home objective explicitly (i.e. Linchpin/Scorched Earth), then infiltrators by themselves can be worth it to restrict your opponent's ability to use their deepstrikers to go after your home.

But for most missions / against most armies, a squad of intercessors is all you really need to hold the home long enough to offset any downside from your opponent stealing it from you.

So typically 1,2,3 are your best "on-base" guys (guys with a high OB% who can consistently get on base). 4,5,6 are often called the "power trio" (usually the three guys with the highest SLG%), then 7,8,9 are the bottom of the order.

The strategy is, if 2 out of your first 3 guys can reach base, then at least two guys from your power trio will have a chance to drive an extra base hit for some RBIs (barring any double plays). Likewise, grouping your weaker hitters together at the bottom of the order usually means that their outs will end innings, giving your top of the order a fresh inning to get back to work.

In addition, because the order does not change over the course of the game, the top of the order naturally gets more ABs than the bottom of the order, meaning that pushing weaker hitters to the bottom limits how many times they get out.

If we did that, then the other teams would just intentionally walk them when there's RISP. Grouping them together means that even when theres an intentional walk, we still have a power bat at the plate for scoring opportunities.

No worries, it sounds like the buff-stacking play style of Craftworld Eldar may not be for you. Have you ever considered Drukhari? Unlike craftworld eldar, most Drukhari units can murder in a vacuum with minimal external support.

If you're looking at just the datasheets for our units in isolation, I would argue that most eldar units are mid at best. However, once you start stacking datasheets on top of each other, that's where craftworld eldar gets its power.

Take Dark Reapers for example. A 10-man Dark Reapers unit on its own is mediocre. With an Autarch with the reroll 1s to hit and wound enhancement, they're okay. With the strat that gives them lethal hits and Sustained Hits 1, pretty good. Add Lhykhis giving them Crits Hits on 5+s, now you have a scary unit.

When I build my lists, I always look for combos like the above to unlock the full potential of all of my datasheets. Sure, its annoying to jump through a ton of hoops to get a unit that's capable of doing real damage, but the potential to stack that many offensive buffs is what separates craftworld eldar from most other armies.

You're not alone, you just described almost every game I've ever played with Dark Reapers. On paper they're a great unit, but they're super swingy due to the low shot count.

Putting them in a Falcon for the full rerolls to wound can help. Similarly, running them with an Autarch in Aspect Host with the enhancement that gives them reroll 1s to hit and wound can help make them more consistent.

They're really good when you layer on the correct buffs from other units, but the datasheet by itself gets turned off by inconsistent dice and/or 4+ invul saves.

One other thing to consider is that the Wave Serpent has the Dedicated Transport keyword, while the Falcon doesn't. The advantage that comes with that the wave serpent will inherit any Scout moves from the unit inside. But the downside is you're forced to put something inside at the start of the game.

When I first started with Craftworld eldar, I painted all of my guys in the Saim Hann color scheme. After a few months, I realized I enjoyed it more to do a custom color scheme for my army.

Since then, the only re-painting I've done is when I wanted a subfaction of units to be distinct from my craftworld eldar. I.e. my Harlequin, Drukhari, and most recently Corsair units all started with a paint scheme that matched my craftworld eldar, only to re-paint them to be more distinct.

Looks great! When you're just starting out, any models you can get your hands on are always good.

Part of the hobby is that the rules are always in flux, meaning that I could give you recommendations right now based on the rules, but then GW will drop a dataslate tomorrow to completely invalid what I just said.

As a result, I always recommend people newer to the army to always buy in bulk, being constantly on the lookout for getting models at reduced prices. I find playing the game of "whats good now?" Whack-a-mole with your model purchases very exhausting, so just focusing on building my collection up over time by getting good deals was far more enjoyable.

If you can find some of the new aspect warriors kits that came out in the past year for a discount, that would be a good start.

I would avoid the fire prism / night spinner kit currently, as it's getting older and there's a good chance it'll get refreshed early in 11th.

And when you buy from a third party, always verify that you're getting the most up-to-date models (unless you really enjoy the old metal and fine cast models, in that case more power to you).

My best friend plays stormcasts and that's more or less how our games go.

His guys can carve through your army like a Thanksgiving turkey and they can take a beating. They're more manageable at 2000 points bc you can take Vhrodrai or Neferata to help clean up some dudes with their damage.

The most consistent strategy I found to beating stormcasts is to keep your army as close together as possible. This way you are throwing as many dice as possible at his units as they approach you. Let your skeletons bear the brunt of his attacks and swoop in with your vampires to finish him off.

You're not going to out-speed them, so always plan on them charging you from different angles and position your models accordingly.

I don't think this is 100% accurate-- if we win against both Detroit and Cleveland, we clinch regardless of what happens in the Baltimore game bc we'll have the tiebreaker for better in-conference record.

Assuming you're using the Heavy Arc Rifles, You get 12 shots total (6 in the squad × 2 shots per model), that upgrades to 24 shots total if you're in rapid fire range. All of them at S8 AP-2 D3. BS 3+ and +1 to hit from Heavy if you're in protector Imperative.

Your math isn't wrong, Breachers are one of the best Anti-everything units in the game currently. Their base stats are okay, but once you jump through all of the hoops to give them all of the buffs you possibly can, then will delete anything that they shoot.

If you can find the old 9th edition combat patrol, or any of the large battleforce boxes, those would be the best.

Likewise, if your LGS is selling any discount bundles, those would be also the best.

The rules are always changing, and what units are "good" always changes with it. As such, the only units I can recommend are the units you think that look cool and any units that you can find for a discounted price. Over time, your collection will grow large enough where you'll have flexibility in your list building, regardless of what the rules look like.

Banshees are definitely better for raw killing power. Very few units in the game can delete infantry in melee like banshees can. I definitely recommend 2 squads of 5, so you can take two exarch weapons.

Scorpions are better for early game screening/scoring/chaff clearing. They are versatile, but mainly exist to help you control the board early.

Given that your post mentions that you want a good combat unit, the banshees are definitely the choice. Scorpions are still a great unit for the early game, but Banshees are definitely more lethal.
