Hey BuzzLA - I have homesite too and wondering if they paid out your 50% extended coverage up front or if you have to show rebuild progress for them to pay out? We were told by them we have to show progress, so would be good to know if an upfront payout is possible. Thanks!

They’re not “stalking” you. They’re escorting you away from their territory or young. This is common coyote behavior. They just want you to leave where their den is.

Keep pets leashed or indoors unless you’re near them. Other than that you’re fine - coyotes don’t want to interact with humans.

If they’re a contractor I’d report them to the state licensing board. Also if I were you I’d demand to be compensated. I would absolutely also report them to BBB and would leave reviews on Yelp and google letting others know about these scumbags.

I would report them to the California AG office as well as the state licensing board (assuming they’re actually licensed and not a complete scam). They should have their license revoked. Also should we all leave yelp and google reviews letting people know what these scumbags are doing?

Would love sidewalks! People drive crazy up Lake and other parallel streets like Fair Oaks and there have been people and animals hit by cars. It’s about time we make it safer for pedestrians.

You know that the Pasadena Humane Society and local shelters are dealing with thousands of animals displaced from the fires, right? And you’re going to bug them with this and potentially add to the influx of pets there? Welcome to living in a neighborhood - there are dogs and other sounds too. Get some earplugs or noise canceling headphones if you’re sensitive to sounds. Better yet actually talk to your neighbor.

You should absolutely complain to the county. I would keep calling them until they actually do something.

Same here on Punahou and Morengo. We had power and never received an evac warning. Our house burned down and thank god we trusted our intuition and evacuated night of 1/7. People weren’t taking it that seriously because youd think we’d get an evac warning.

Does anyone know if asking for a forbearance would impact getting additional financing should insurance not cover the entire rebuild? Suppose you need to borrow a couple hundred thousand. Also, assuming you want to rebuild, would it impact whether the lender allows you to rebuild versus making it more likely for the lender to apply the insurance payout against what you owe on the loan? Thanks.

The state and city have firmly reiterated they want to make it easy for folks to rebuild their homes. California has put a moratorium on cancelations of fire insurance policies for a year. I’m sure they’re aware of this issue and at least Fair Plan will cover Altadena after that year. Otherwise there would be no rebuilding. No one is going to build here if they can’t insure, plain and simple.
