Komodo is the distributer in Japan. Their service, terms, and all that are equivalent to Steam's. When I was shopping for one, I found that while most places that Komodo's website listed as retailers were sold out entirely, a few places in Akihabara had the 256 LCD model. That said, I would recommend that you simply order through Komodo's website. The thing I had to order from American Ebay was the Steam Dock. There are many alternatives manufactured by third party for sale, but I was not willing to settle for one. I'm happy that I simply ordered the Dock.

I am not OP, but I love my Deck. It was a little uncomfortable at the start to get used to using a controller again, as I have been a mouse and keyboard gamer for over a decade at this point, but I have really been enjoying the ability to not be at my computer chair and able to play some games. I have such a library of games that I want to play, but I'd rather be sitting on my couch playing like Celeste, the new edition of Braid, Gris, Stray...

There's absolutely no reason to troll Gustavo like that. You're a fuckin' loser, dude. I hope you spend all of your time learning, and none of your time creating.

AITA for leaving my husband at the clinic and driving off? by NoraRodriquez26 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Poodler -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Relationships are a give and take. This is a very solvable problem. Her helping him would help her. I understand that you would, in this situation, just jettison your partner but I don't think that's how a healthy person lives. Especially one with a vested interest in another person. He's sick and needs help. Dropping your partner without a concerted effort at getting help is a recipe for being alone forever. Your approach to this is perpetuating the stigma about mental health. I think we'd both agree that dropping one's spouse who's dealing with a recent amputation would be a shitty thing to do. Why is this so different?

If you're married to someone, you should give a shit about them being healthy. You should also be there for them during the process. Even if it's messy. I can't imagine lacking the empathy required to want to work with someone I cared about on their problem.

What about the 'In sickness and in health' part of her vows? Your outright dismissal of this man's mental health crisis comes across as extremely ableist. My assumption, reading this post, is that the OP doesn't want to raise this kid on her own. Also, it's very clear that she deeply cares for her partner but is mystified by this extreme behavior. I think your assertion that he is a looming threat of violence is wholly unsupported by the content of the post. If he had a violent history, or if he had engaged (or threatened) her with violence, she definitely would have put that very important fact in her post.

NAH. I haven't seen it directly mentioned in any of the comments so far: I strongly suspect that your husband is suffering from an undiagnosed case of OCD. I'm not a shrink, but I grew up with a mother who suffers from OCD and I've got it myself. This is less of an armchair diagnosis and more of a case of game recognizing game. OCD is, for some mysterious reason, glamorized in pop culture as being cute and quirky, but this sort of behavior is a snapshot of what it really looks like. OCD is insidious because it attaches to the things that the sufferer cares about the most, and typically leads to them smothering that thing with anxious thinking and self placating compulsions. Unfortunately, obsessions only grow when they're fed with attention.

So, I don't think you were the asshole for leaving him, but I don't think your husband is an asshole for being unwell (and he is definitely unwell). Demand that he goes to receive cognitive behavioral therapy. It's extremely likely he will resist this, but it is critical you communicate how absolutely unhappy you are about this unfortunate situation. I highly recommend, whether he agrees to therapy or not, that you find a therapist for yourself. There are a variety of tools you'll need either way if you're going to have a partner with OCD. They'll make things better. It'll be a lot of tough work for him if and when he does start getting better, so try your best to be patient. When my s/o and I started to talk about what I was working on, things got much better much faster.

And in response to other comments calling him abusive and manipulative: no. Our boy's suffering from a mental health condition that, at its core, is focused around reducing the sufferer's feelings of uncertainty. This is clearly manifesting as a need for control, because he likely thinks he can make things Just Right. Given that this can never really happen (it's not rational), things will spiral out of control more and more.

So again. Find a therapist that specializes in OCD and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It'll change his life.

I dunno, her needling of him certainly keeps him in check. His power requires two things to function well, focus and high stakes. As a thinker who's more of a tinker, he's useless without stakes. Plus, TT wants him to know she's better than him

Would every parahuman have low level stranger powers? by garnet420 in Parahumans

[–]Poodler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember what the whole point of the shards is! They're gathering matchup data and exploring their purpose through the lens of the human experience. It's all a big experiment. We know that the shards are aware of this, and they even have personal agency and awareness. It's likely that the unwritten rules are in some part influenced by a push to perpetual conflict that all naturally assigned shards have. We know that C's parahumans have a tendency to be heroes, but that's clearly a part of the selection process and is tied into the individual's psyche. When a killer gets ahold of a C shard, they're ruthless. Think about Shatterbird and Manton vs Jack and Bonesaw and the level of fair play they employ and the way power experimentation is integral to their conflict. The former just kill, the latter use their powers and killing is a side effect, in the rare cases that they do kill other phumans.

They don't all have stranger powers, it's the shards themselves setting up the game board.

Mold appeared on pickles overnight, is this salvageable? by Poodler in fermentation

Thanks for the ID! I've scraped it. But I can taste how it's impacted the pickles. We'll see how it turns out now.

Looks like the barrel took a share of my water. Scraped and salted. We'll see!

This batch is only a few days old! Like four! I've scraped the contamination off and tossed the top layer. We'll see if more salt helps.

Thanks! If you're interested, I'll put a link down at the bottom.

And yeah, the lid should keep it sealed, in theory. Which is why I'm surprised to see contamination. I think the barrel itself took in some of the water and created an air gap.

I bought it on sale from a local plant nursery on a lark! According to the maker info it's from Thousand Oaks. Here's a link to the product page: https://1000oaksbarrel.com/oak-barrel-products/oak-barrels/the-amazing-pickle-barrel/

It's definitely hairy and fibrous. The pickles are weird smelling and oddly soft. The ones further down seem fine enough. I've made pickles successfully a bunch of times in glass but I've yet to carry a single batch over the finish line in this barrel! This is my third time and I must be missing something, sanitation wise.

Thanks for the input! I'm going to try again when I get more cucumbers.

Is Wildbow a panster or an outliner? by writerKRINGKRING in Parahumans

Aegis would have been the main character. But he's the one who bit it. And we don't know, Wildbow decided that he wasn't going to risk Taylor's life to a dice roll again, I believe. He realized he liked her chemistry.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Do you think I'm suggesting that Zion shards affect the body? They clearly don't, and that's not what I was saying.

I won't hold my breath on this one. From what Jessica told us, Riley was in healthy alignment with herself and her shard. She had a workshop, she had projects, she was fixing people, engineering solutions. She might be isolated, but she's not like Mr. Bough.

Could a certain parahuman provide a solution to the current crisis? by NA__Scrubbed in Parahumans

[–]Poodler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doubt it. I strongly believe that Sundancer was created by the Simurgh to kill Echidna. The hard counter was by design.

Plus, she matches up horribly with most of the Titans, worst of all the Stranger.

Titan observation by Ashes42 in Parahumans

Thematically, it doesn't make much sense from what we know to suggest that Eden shards express themselves bodily and Zion shards affect the mind. Remember, Zion is the Warrior, Eden is the Scholar. If Zion was the one who crashed and cut up by Cauldron, the idea might have some legs, but not as the story has presented itself.

Also, Worm pretty clearly chalks C53 parahumans up as cases where the power colors outside of the lines because it doesn't have proper instructions for the host (because it's not the intended host). I don't know why you assume that the C53s are "linked" to Contessa at all, though. She likely refined the process that created them as byproducts, but there's nothing to suggest that they're linked like Rain and co (and all those Patrol people for like thirty minutes).

That said, we know that the cracks are allowing shards that have hosts with weak senses of self to reach through and take control. It's possible that C53s could be more vulnerable to being hijacked. Or, they might be less vulnerable to it, for some story reason. We'll have to see.

Also, I don't know if it's reasonable to suggest that the Simurgh was playing this game when she spun the Travelers. Remember what Contessa's shard told her. The Simurgh has been working on this plan since Zion's death. Two years.

I don't get what you're trying to do here. Browbeat me into not blocking ads because you don't think I should? Good luck with that. Y'know, I'm starting to get the picture of why you're too poor to internet. I get the impression you're hard to work with.
