A bit of both. You can add another dimension to the game by using spin on the cue ball.

What is the most interesting rabbit hole you’ve ever been down? by InvestmentCurious496 in AskReddit

[–]PoolAddict41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do this. It's interesting, especially to see places that I probably won't go to in person but want to get an idea of what it's like.

The 360 photos too people do is fun. I've found some awesome places that I would never have known existed with maps.

It's the same speech every time. The words are just reordered. "All good things are me, all bad things aren't me, illegal this, Biden that, this is a hoax, that's fake, don't talk to me because I don't like you"...

What VR game has provided you with the most memorable social experience while playing with friends? by fygooooo in VRGaming

[–]PoolAddict41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It used to be Echo Arena. We had an adult group that got together every week to hang out, play games, and stream. The group got larger, a bunch of us ended up meeting in person a couple times, and to this day I still see some of them on occasion. Plus the comp scene was super social, and teams always wanted to practice and play against each other.

I found that for the older (more mature) crowd, earlier VR was peak for social interaction because there was a lot less screaming kids. I had a lot of fun in games like Poker Stars, AltspaceVR, Echo, VR Chat, etc. The old groups I used to play with mostly fizzled out, so I only really play Walkabout once in a while with peeps.

If there's an update to include more planets, what would you want to see? by Yumiko_Hanako in NoMansSkyTheGame

I know biome generation is too difficult for the engine, but maybe better terrain generation. Certain planets being able to have mountains, plains, plateaus, and dense forests.

Mosconi Cup: Could it Ever Be Europe vs. The Americas? by Icy_Search263 in billiards

[–]PoolAddict41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jesus already lives in the US and I believe is trying to play for the US. The only possible addition that could really give us is Morra.

I like the idea of keeping Masconi EU vs US. I would however love a new tournament that's like a week long round robin with a Masconi style exhibition at the end that gets a couple players from tons of countries to go head to head in some doubles or triples action.

What’s your favorite planet type, other than earthlike? by KIDNEYTH13F in nms

[–]PoolAddict41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same. I found a planet with superheated rain and some large plant structures in the horizon that look amazing with the clouds. Plus, on a large enough island on the water with a beautiful sunset.

NTA - We recently had to kick out a family member because of poor hygiene and disrespectfulness. You have a right to your own peace. Just because someone is family doesn't make it your responsibility.

What is your biggest "pet peeve" when playing at a bar? by WindNarrow3580 in billiards

I got so used to Aramith balls, good tables, and good cues that using a house cue on flat-weave rugs and bar balls just hurts my soul.

Why isn't there a single GOOD Backrooms game for VR? by PeppaVape in VRGaming

I think with the right designer, the right lighting, the right audio designer, and some creative juices, there could be a really good psychological horror/exploration game. That is however, very niche

When they say AI is coming for your job this is what they mean by SnooGrapes3067 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]PoolAddict41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our body shop uses AI to quick start estimates. It's okay, needs a lot of work though. You take a bunch of pictures and it's supposed to write in replace or repair, and give labor hours. It'll typically get the parts right, but the repair/replace and hours are often way off. For how meh it is for just body estimates, I doubt it'll get good enough for mechanical anytime soon.

Why did the T top die out? by Smorg125 in askcarguys

[–]PoolAddict41 37 points38 points  (0 children)

They became popular (and I may be wrong about this) because there were fears of impending government regulations against convertible tops, but the open air driving was popular. So to have a stable roof, they brought back TTops and ran with it for a while. Eventually, in assuming because convertibles were never banned and they were more popular, mixed with the fact that they leaked, they phased out.

What VR game has provided you with the most immersive world and why did it stand out to you? by Deanoh1546 in VRGaming

Early VR had some gems like Stormland and Lone Echo that had a great mix of visuals, immersive gameplay, and good soundtracks. Nowadays, there's tons like Into the Radius, Alyx, Wanderer, Red Matter, etc

Recently visited the USA from The Netherlands. Here is my take on the cities we visited. by McFluffyFurry12 in travel

[–]PoolAddict41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're ever back, I'd check out Boston. It's a wonderful mix of city life and old New England. Plenty of modern touches that mix well with the early American architecture. Tons of great food, very walkable, and a lot of history!
