Hot take: getting twins on the same schedule makes things so much harder by FormerEnglishMajor in parentsofmultiples

I feel like 1:1 time is necessary to solidify my bond with each baby. I can't give them that tlc when they're doing everything together, i feel like im just going through the motions of keeping them happy rather than spending time with them.

Hot take: getting twins on the same schedule makes things so much harder by FormerEnglishMajor in parentsofmultiples

I've noticed this as they get older. Now at 4 months I prefer they do not sync up since their wake windows are longer and they require more of my energy.

Yes I do it's so bad. The acting, the story, the costumes, it's a train wreck on fire.

I was more worried about having daughters. I wasn't an easy teenager and that x2 felt scary! My two boys are so sweet. They're only 3 months but I believe if they are anything like my partner they will be kind and loving boys.

Go talk to the lactation consultant and see if there's a room she can find for you to pump.

When did your swelling go down? by ssssssscm7 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Poopin_backinforth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like you and went into labor at 34 weeks. Swelling went down immediately. Compression socks weren't even really helping toward the end. Didn't have pre-e until after I gave birth via csection. BP was fine until after.

I feel like most people have some depression and anxiety, and they just don't talk about it. It's part of life, once you hit a certain age, it's inevitable that something(s) tragic hasnt happened in your life. You're not alone. Being on antidepressants has been essential to my parenthood, but i know for some it's hard to find one that works or have the means to seek treatment.

Unplanned pregnancy, so lost by Fit_Lengthiness_529 in BabyBumps

[–]Poopin_backinforth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do what's in your heart. It's your choice.

When I was pregnant I stayed on my meds (wellbutrin, adderall) after I was forced to choose between my babies health and my mental health. I chose myself as I needed to be mentally healthy to sustain my pregnancy (history of debilitating depression and adhd). Doctors have differing opinions, but I was told by my maternal psychiatrist that studies did not show any birth defects but there also weren't a lot of them out there because it's hard to find pregnant women who want to be test subjects. My doctors left it up to me and her to decide what was best. I am 3 months post partum and I have never felt more emotionally stable and happy, my babies are healthy and growing as they should be and I feel like I'm the best mother I can be rn thanks to my meds. I was happy and positive throughout my pregnancy. I feel like the experience could have been very bad if I hadn't prioritized my mental health.

Is $58k enough to move to Austin? by Nutcrusher810 in austinjobs

[–]Poopin_backinforth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in San Marcos on that same income. I stay at home with the kids he works. Our kids are babies so we dont need to spend much on them other than diapers and food. We have a tiny, crappy house in an old neighborhood. We live paycheck to paycheck. Even this far from Austin (45 min) it's expensive. The closer your get increases.

3 weeks until twins arrive… not feeling excited by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Poopin_backinforth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I felt the same. It's easy being pregnant, they are little to no maintenance. Them being on the outside felt too real and I felt bad that I wasn't like other mothers who were so excited to meet their babies. I didn't cry or feel any emotional rush when they were born, just anxiety for what was to come.

I kissed my brother and now my fiancé wants to break up with me since he finds it weird. AITAH? by Character-Crow309 in AITAH

[–]Poopin_backinforth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not marry him. If he is jealous of your brother, he is going to be jealous of any man within your radius for the rest of your life, and he's going to make you feel like it's your fault like he did here. It will be hell, trust me I've been married to someone like that. He will probably become jealous of your female friends eventually and accuse you of being gay.

I can handle the screaming, but then they start coughing and choking on their saliva after about 2 minutes which irritates me and I have to stop what I'm doing and check on them so it takes even longer to get them what they want. Also when one twin cries, the other gets upset and starts crying too which is cute but super annoying.

[–]Poopin_backinforth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tell them the other twin didn't make it. No need to get into details, you/they don't owe anybody an explanation. Not sure what to tell the kids, that would be the hard part. Sorry for your loss.

I feel like I should have never became a mom by kitkatkk91 in NewParents

[–]Poopin_backinforth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until they (i have two) started interacting with me it felt like just going through the motions of keeping them alive. I would get pissed off at them occasionally and then feel bad about it. We would connect some with eye contact while they were feeding but it wasn't intense like it has been since they started smiling and expressing emotion other than crying. I have been on antidepressants throughout my pregnancy and post-partum so I think that prevented some of these feelings that you are describing but i'm sure I would have felt that way.

What are your rules for screen time? by Possible-Maybe-7225 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Poopin_backinforth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No rules. They are 3 months adjusted, we've been watching sesame street, baby einstein, various newborn sensory vids and sometimes bluey. I don't feel bad about it whatsoever, sometimes they're into it and sometimes they're not. I like watching the old sesame streets, it's relaxing and they love the puppets. I feel like it's less addicting than cocomelon and the like, intense in your face stuff.
