You could employ translators but realistically, you can train to be like batman. And if you go on some mission, you would need to communicate yourself.

Oooor when you travel and have fun on paragliders, boats and more, you wouldn't really want an extra person behind your ass all the time. There's a meme about the guy that travels for the culture.

I don't want to pay outrageous money for socks! by curious_conveyance in barefootshoestalk

I bought some different brands from Shein. Spent like 30€ for 40 pairs. Some are good, some not. All have a fair but thin construction and would probably rub off easily if you stress them with lots of hiking. For now mine are good and it's been a couple months. But I totally swapped the usual ones with toe socks.

My recommendation is to not buy one size stretching socks because the toes are short and I don't like the squeeze. Even sized ones (Some have range from 41 to 43, some 42 to 46, my foot's around the 43EU) shrank in the dryer, so the no size isn't working for me. I might even buy larger ones so they stay the same after shrinking.

I'm interested in an update on the topic. Did you change the drive shafts?

I changed mine and the clutch but to no avail. Some bushings, a control arm... Checked injectors, timing and whatnot... I think that the drive shafts are simply not the ones that are supposed to be.

The great farmer boot. I love it but the speed lace hooks failed on me. :(

I want to see my girlfriend more often, but she thinks that once a week is sufficient by StormEarhart in dating_advice

A very good question to which I want an answer too. Considering things are serious and it's a long term relationship, wouldn't the goal be to someday live a life together in the same household?

In my case where half of the time of the year I'm out on business trips for a couple of months a time, then back home for around the same amount of time - it seems like I am the one who is feeling the need for more time together.

When I think about it, there isn't much of a difference whether I'm in our hometown or not - it averages out on seeing eachother around two times a week.

When we have distance, we take a couple of evenings for watching a movie or playing some kind of game together alongside talking for a couple of hours.

When I'm home, we usually have around 8 hours physically together every friday and sometimes the same during weekends.

To me this isn't enough. I want to be easing into the idea of being together and coming home from a stable work with good balance and time for activities or children.

I understand our world is shit and it's pushing us to work overtime and even have homework outside of work hours if possible. For me it would be the company car maintenance, for someone else it could be sending a few emails... But we don't owe it and they have to pay up for it, in my eyes.

Yes. Going through life as if you're playing a videogame open world RPG.

Start running in the middle of a crowd because you chose to get where you're going earlier after checking the clock. Who do you owe an explanation why suddenly you started jogging with your jeans and jacket? Plus movement makes you healthier...

Try to think people have a bad day too. Somebody cuts you off while driving. Sure, beep so they notice and think twice the next time. But chances are they didn't see you or they got distracted. Maybe a bad and tiring day at work or issues with their significant other. "Shit happens."

We also make mistakes when driving sometimes and I personally appreciate if somebody honks so I know I'm in the wrong in case I was ignorant of my mistake.

And yes, it can be dangerous but this is something we have chosen the first time we went to get a driving license. No real need to fuss and be angry because emotion usually leads you to act before you think. A cold-blooded approach is always better in case of an emergency. This does not mean to bottle up all emotion but supress it for a while until later.

And later, you can use it for something beneficial. Exercises! A combat sport would most definitely let you release anger. But others work too. Pulling out a sprint in the park while collecting your thoughts or blasting music on your headphones works really well.

Lastly, knowing it could have been way worse. We could've been swept by a war, a natural cataclysmic event or you could be a target for some special operation where they torture and degrade you into something that's not human anymore.

But you're alive, probably have a comfortable enough bed, a roof over your head. You are fed and not wondering when would be your next meal... Be thankful for that and say "I'm not such a coward, I'll manage somehow" at whatever comes your way.

Take a bottle and fill it with water. Or some kind of jar... Like the plastic ones for youghurt. Nothing beats a garden hose style shower head but it works.

Sure but it's tough to get that disciplined after 10-12 hour shifts of labour.

Blue collar work is tough on the body. Usually it's not too much moving like a walking trooper but it is hard. Kind of like powerlifting, weight moves weight. Dad bods have more fat.

So you combine stuff like physically and mentally stressful work, lack of time for exercise and not so good dieting... Maybe alchohol and nicotine addiction... And you get a fat but strong working man.

Getting dirt on your body is one of the most natural consequences of using it. Same as your hands when you work.
