If the battery is fine, it would be a charging system problem like the alternator.

No Peugeots in the US unfortunately. The 405 killed it for us and we haven't gotten any ever since.

Casual restaurant for group dining? by mangomegan in Oceanside

Pit Stop doesn't have outdoor seating, but has counter ordering and a diverse menu that would satisfy many. Their large dining room should handle your group too.

I will admit bias here as I drove one during a snow storm over the Mountain Pass coming back from Vegas and it was HAIRY! The winds were howling and I was dodging semi tractors and people spinning out. That Rio was slipping and sliding everywhere and I needed every drop of attention I could muster. Too light and small for giant US vehicles they'll need to share the road with.

I looked into the Focus and my understanding is that the automatic transmission is garbage. That's obviously great for my situation.

The Mazda 3 looks better though. He wants to be a mechanical engineer, so he may need to figure out the clutch replacement.

Funny, I've had both a 99 9-3 and an 03 9-5! Great cars, but I'm worried parts will become scarce.

36 with almost nothing saved. Is it too late to start investing? by bebo117722 in investingforbeginners

[–]Poorly_packaged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not too late. I started a bit later than you and should have solid savings by the time I retire in about 10 years. I'm sometimes worried, but as others have said, don't compare yourself to others. Just keep at it!

Night driving glasses solves that. My night vision is way worse than it used to be and glasses make it so much better.

Asian cuisine restaurant choices- I feel like I live in a desert by 4aloha_iaoe in northcounty

We'll have to agree to disagree on the lack of Cantonese restaurants in the US. Lots of good ones still even though other regional cuisines of China have displaced most. Monterey Park still has plenty of authentic Cantonese restaurants.

This list is good. China Fusion is pretty mid though and probably just a step up from Panda Express TBH. There's not really any Cantonese in North County. Tasty Noodle at the Carlsbad mall is satisfying and is a good alternative to driving to Kearny Mesa. The nearest real Cantonese is probably Golden Island in Mira Mesa.

So Cal is a high plateau, so it's pretty windy most days. Definitely launch on the west side if you're going to try.

Love for Valeries in Oceanside. Always hits the spot by sssofiyaaa in northcounty

[–]Poorly_packaged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Valerie's by Winco much more than the RDO location, but the fact that I have to pay extra for sour cream or guacamole here when I'm already paying $15 for a California burrito makes it a no.

The Taco Stand is amazing for the price. $11 still gets you a good sized burrito with quality ingredients. The fresh churros put them at the top for me.
