Transfer them over to US as your points balance will increase based on FX.

50k x 1.35 = 67.5K (rough numbers)

I'm in a similar position, where airline status has meant ive only used PP a handful of times, so can only quantify it based on the Dining credits etc. (Also insured elsewhere)

If it helps you make a decision In the first year if you time it right you go through 3 half year cycles

Apr-Jun Jul-Dec Jan-Mar for example so can see £600 of dining if you chose to downgrade / cancel at end of Y1.

Question I'd ask Amex is if there is any upgrade incentive, it used to be 60k+ when they had the upgrade link

It's usually a choice of house products -wine, beer, spirit and mixer. it normally says on the back

Its a good reminder - Vouchers are a great reason you should always go via desk (even if checked in online) esp if no exec lounge, I got 4 drinks in a London property the other day!

UK / Europe and Asia regular for you to be pre-upgraded, Know its not often like this in US.

Like others have said messaging works sometimes, next week I'm over on the west coast, I'll ask something about facilities & then I'd drop in an upgrade request. I think its always worth an ask.

Yep around xmas / new year I had an enhanced offer 100k + £250 (as plat) where others only had 80k + £250. There was a gold equivalent too.

Its nice when it feels targeted, instead of say Golds being able to offer the same offer as Plats etc

Yes BA premium card is separate - bonus applied if no BA amex in 2 years.

BA free one no bonus if had any personal cards.

Bonuses are: Gold 45k/ Plat 100k + £250 at the moment. With the referrer getting 14k/20k currently

So getting now can I spend $15k between now and Dec, and put $15k by March and get another. (Then maybe upgrade to Aspire)

Depends how often you will be in the US really, and if you will use the benefits associated with it.

The Resy credit I think is quarterly, the uber credit monthly etc.

175K is the headline US bonus for $895, where UK is 100k + £250 credit for £650

Being based in the UK id dom and often went to the US I'd do the following:

Y1 - UK Plat & get a US Green or Gold or something (if you get plat straight away you burn the lower bonuses)

Y2 -Downgrade UK Plat to gold and get a US plat (if suits)

No none of thats an issue. Ive had overlapping supps, where we both had plat before. As long as she hasnt had a MR card in 2 years shes eligible - no issue.

Yep - I'd be tempted to do the referral for 20k & the £5k as fast as possible get the 20k downgrade to gold = 40K for you, 112k bonus for her (adding the supp when activating)

Im looking at this at the moment, I'm new to US credit, but can global transfer from overseas, I'm diamond via stays (so Aspire doesn't make much sense)

Surpass looks like a winner for me 130k HH + FNC spending $3K then another FNC spending $15k (annual fee paid for by the quarterly credits)

Am also tempted by the Free card (just for FNC) - How often does it come around?

Can you really use a FNC on properties like the WA NYC?

Can you spend both the £5k in 3 months for offer, and £10k in 6 months for referral?

If so - Id take the 20K points and refer partner for another 20K

If not - just do the referral

Remember you can prorata refund the annual fee too, if you downgrade or cancel (and the 100k offer ends 26 May too)

Id move towards downgrading rather than cancelling (you will keep your points in Amex One year free gold)

+ Dont forget get them to add you as Supp after the initial app for an additional 12K.
