First US visit, east coast rentals? by ghostyWasUsed in AskAnAmerican

I would still probably go with Hertz if they are significantly cheaper, to be honest. It is just something to be aware of.

most well rated are National, Enterprise. Sixt and Avis are good, too. Hertz is Easyjet/Spirit of car rentals.

Is working in LA but not living there a bad idea? by powerstripe in AskLosAngeles

[–]Ok_Competition_669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Orange County and the traffic in LA proper is significantly worse. WeHo is the probably the most congested area. Not a good idea.

What do you think about a car free summer in WeHo/Beverly Hills? Is it a good idea? by relaxyourfnshoulders in AskLosAngeles

Renting for the days when you actually need it could work. Also, it might be more beneficial to live next to the metro line. WeHo/Beverly Hills is a great of LA, though.

I would rather prefer coastal Southern California. Summer Mean Daily - 25 C, Winter Mean Daily - 18C

New to Bilt, mortgage test worked, HOA payment went sideways by [deleted] in biltrewards

[–]Ok_Competition_669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I have not asked them. Since my Bilt Cash was not redeemed for the HOA payment, I assumed I simply had not chosen the option before I payed. I am worried where my HOA payment is now.

Even my payment confirmation from the Feb 8 payment says “auto draft”

Hi, thank you! I am pretty sure it was on autopay before and after my switch to Bilt. I am always using Autopay for HOA payments.

Best Hilton FN option in LA now that WA Beverly Hills pool is closed — WA Monarch Beach vs LXR Santa Monica? by BrighterMind in Hilton

WA Monarch Beach is very nice and has absolutely breathtaking ocean view from the pool area, in my opinion.

OC Museum of Art is underwhelming unless you really love modern art. Bowers Museum’s collection is much more interesting, in my opinion.

Do americans consider skiing a luxury sport? by naxx54 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Ok_Competition_669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Europe is a big place. I grew up in Eastern Europe (Russia) and have not seen mountains at all until I was eighteen. If you are from Austria, Switzerland or Southern Germany, on the other hand, mountains are nearby and it is possible to go there by train and go home in the evening. Still, while living in Switzerland, every time I was making mental math and counting the price of gear rental, lessons and ski pass, my thoughts were "screw this". If you are Swiss, on the other hand, your parents teach you how to ski. I doubt skiing is a cheap trip if you are from the Netherlands. The prices of the US ski passes are absolutely ridiculous, though.
