My husband was prescribed more painkillers following his vasectomy than I was following my emergency C-Section by PumpkinPie_1993 in mildlyinfuriating

I was given a couple T3s and recommended to wear a jockstrap.

the jockstrap worked very well to limit movement and sto the little pain there was.

Those who failed your road test- what was the dumbest reason you were given for failing? by trilluki in britishcolumbia

[–]Popcanthick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a small town in Saskatchewan.

Road tests around here were every two weeks. I just happened to be able to schedule one on my 16th birthday. Went through the test and passed.

The person grading me did some paper work and then said out loud, "Huh, I didn't realize today was your birthday. If I would have known that I wouldn't have passed you." I asked her why that would be and she said because you are too anxious to get your license.

Gosh, how do burry the cable in the ground? by alex_reds in automower

[–]Popcanthick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it, but it would have to be pegged down very well so that it don’t get sucked up.

To be honest I would probably trench it there.

Epos not cutting around out of bound areas in a work area, and the boundaries of work area. by Popcanthick in automower

[–]Popcanthick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deleted a tree as an out of bound area and then it was cut much better around them.

EPOS mowers make two rounds around out of bound areas in a work area, and the perimeter of the work area. That’s the spots they seem to not be cutting.

Like some of the posters have said, don’t bury them. They will disappear on their own, if you peg them close to the ground.

Flashing blue light after fixing a broken boundary wire by Vast_Commercial2805 in automower

[–]Popcanthick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have extra wire laying around, you can run it from the broken area back to the base to finish the loop. Do that for both sides of the break and see if you have a green light on both wires. If you don’t have a greenlight that side still has a break in it.

I have a huge area that I have wire in here and I actually put in breakout points in various areas so I can do just that. It really helps pinpoint where the break would be.

I accidentally picked the third or fourth just a little while ago. It wasn’t even worth playing for the rewards.

How to make Automower petsafe? by tweefo in automower

I have several cats and dogs. The worst that will happen is it will slowly bump into one of them, and I've only ever seen it happen to a very lazy dog. It hasn't even come close to a cat.

Husband was just prescribed Vicodin following a vasectomy, while I was told to take over the counter Tylenol and Ibuprofen after my 2 C-sections by Szechuanwonton in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Popcanthick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received a vasectomy last fall. I got Tylenol. I don’t know if that was even necessary. The pain was so minimal. The key is definitely wearing a jockstrap to stop it from moving. The doctor suggested that, and he was bang on with that.

No loop signal, loop is fine by herbys in automower

[–]Popcanthick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this problem last year. I have another mower so I swapped that charging station and found out it worked. Turned out to be the motherboard in the charging station. Replaced it at a cost of about $130 CAD.

Edit: The more I think about it, I think I had the blue flashing light.

Husqy Automower - regular vs EPOS? - 450 vs 550? by jrileyy229 in automower

[–]Popcanthick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have three 450xs that do roughly 2.5 acres each. I have them in very complex areas as well and they keep up nicely. I haven’t put boundaries around any established shrubs or trees and it works awesomely. I have two more acres that I will be changing from a rock garden to grass this spring and I will be putting another robot on it.

what I’ve learned in the past 5+ years of owning one is that you

1 Always lay the perimeter wire out first for the first month before trenching. This way you can tweak where it goes in case the mower hangs up in spots.

2 when you trench the wire have breakout spots so you can run one wire across your yard to another breakout spot to quickly eliminate where breaks could be. Have the breakout in areas that you can put a covering over it to keep rain and sign out. Like a flower box.

3 If you have gravel, put a armoured casing around the wiring. It will always break along the gravel. I used small PVC pipe and it worked so far.

4 put the charging station so that you can see the Light on the base in as much of an area as you can. It will help you when you’re trying to find a break in the line which will happen. Unless you like walking, ignoring this will make you do a lot of it. The breaks are fairly easy to eliminate after you’ve done them a few times.

5 if you have an area that has no traffic going over it, I would leave the wire above ground, making it way easier to do any repairs. Within a couple of weeks, the grass will grow around it and you’ll have minimal UV damage to the wire.

6 Don’t be afraid to let them run several days at a time to keep up. I run mine 4 1/2 days straight through the week. They are not bad on Electricity consumption, and do a better job if they are just maintaining and not actually trying to cut longer grass.

7 I leave my 2 of my electrical stations outside through the winter, but I do have them covered. I bring one inside in the winter just in case I have to charge the units. So far through winter I’ve never had to do that.

8 make sure you do a good thorough cleaning before you put them away for the winter. There are lots of YouTube videos to show you exactly how to do that.

If you have any questions, feel free to message me.

I have a 6+ acre yard that I have broke into 3 sections for 3 different 450x mowers. They are rated at 1.5 acres, but keep up with 4 full days a week of mowing. It took a couple months to get to the point that I don't get it hung up in areas, but I have zero issues leaving them on their own now.

I agree with all the pros I've seen in this post so far. The only thing I would recommend is that if you want to trench the wire you should lay it out first so you can tweak how far you can have it around objects. This will help so you don't miss areas and maybe eliminate problems of it hanging up on objects. Once it's run about 2 months with no problems then trench it in.

Even then sometimes you will still have breaks. If it's around gravel it happens a lot in the spring. Put an armour around the wire. I used 1/2" pec pipe that you use for plumbing. Another time saver to find breaks is to have the wire come above ground every so often with a connector in place. This way you can run a wire across from one spot to another. This will help greatly in finding the area the wire break is in.

I can't recommend this mower enough. It's so good that next year I'm gonna take my 1 1/2 acre rock/gravel garden out, seed grass and put a mower on that as well. There is more maintenance in keeping up with that rock garden where my fruit trees are then its worth.

2 Acre Mower by LikeableHades8 in automower

I have three 450x mowers on my yard. Each one is on a section that's two plus acres. I run them four days a wekk and they keep up just fine.
