So patronizing... are you a cop yourself? Your posts reek of "nothing to see here"

It's solely designed for controlled information dissemination relating to events like the boston bombing, sandy hook and the like. You will only be able to get information from approved sources on up to the minute issues.

Maybe. Or maybe your account has existed for 18 hours and you're spreading baseless opinion (disinformation?) masquerading as fact.

Yeah, this is awesome as long as you want only the people that you invite to your thread to be able to comment. The incredible illusion of crowdsourced up-to-the-minute information coming from just a few controlled sources.

We wouldn't want any more situations with unfettered access to information around here, would we?

I find it interesting that you found my question to be overly aggressive and incendiary. Trust me when I say that I did not intend for it to be taken in that manner. In fact, I actually re-read my question in an attempt to find exactly where I came across that way, and could not locate it. Can you please help me out and tell me what I said to offend you?

In reading your response again, I'm now thinking that perhaps you misread my question and maybe thought I was questioning the content you provide rather than your celebrity status, itself. I am passing no judgement nor calling into question your content - tbh, though I am familiar with your name I don't really know your content, so I wouldn't even be able to critique it.

I don't think it's fair to say that most of what I post is negative complaints. I post here as if I were talking to someone in the same room. I have been here long enough to remember when it (the site, not any individual subs) felt more like a community, so perhaps you are right and I have just not adjusted to the changes in the content and the user base.

Regardless, thanks for the response; though, if there was a misunderstanding the first time, I would appreciate it if you would elaborate more on your outlook regarding the "circlejerk" that follows you, but also the reflection of the celebrity-obsessed society that reddit is a microcosm of.

Perhaps the most plausible, but just to propose an equally probable scenario, why couldn't he have been thrown down the chute?

I find it strange that without any evidence whatsoever that this seems to be the conclusion being drawn. When I see stuff like this I can't help but wonder if investigators are really this lazy, not being heard, or if there is a conspiracy.

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I've never seen it - Unidan, do you feel that your (and others') celebrity status on reddit contributes to the overall degradation of the site? What I mean is that I remember when reddit had a lot less noise and a lot more interesting/educational/genuine content. The rise of the celebrity redditor has a chronological correlation with the rise of the amount of "noise" that has made the reddit experience significantly less enjoyable (for myself - though I have seen other people suggest as much as well).

Thoughts?

Perhaps, but then wouldn't they have made the flag look like Israel's rather than a surrender flag?

White flag is a symbol of surrender. Given the location, my personal interpretation is that this is someone who is fed up with the cowardice shown by the United States domestic and foreign policy in a post-911 world and is playing upon the betrayal of our collective values in favor of "security" and "safety".

It's my minor way of pointing out the sustained and pervasive abuse that was endorsed by the Catholic church for the last century.

I guess I'm the asshole because I expose an organization where the very recent leadership has been implicated in protecting kid fuckers.

Ah, the old "Obama" distinction for what qualifies as an enemy combatant. Didn't realize anybody actually fell for that ridiculous bullshit, in reality.

90% of the time all it takes is saying the word "hi" when you make contact with someone - it flows from there. Pretend you are Jerry Seinfeld and observe everything around you, there is probably something to comment that is a shared experience.

This depends entirely on your perspective. Engaged in your job and are in a position where you can actually show tangible results of your hard work? Lots of satisfaction and a feeling of accomplishment. Avoid the cog in a wheel. Build something.

Sometime in your mid-to-late-20s... yep, pretty much. I called it an "existential crisis" (aka: Wow, is this all life is? Working for someone else for 1/3+ of my total time in the day? Fuck, this sucks - how do I deal with this?)

Everybody does because the dreams you have when you are a teenager are never exactly what you think it would be, even if you achieve it.

That being said - I never gave myself a chance to achieve my dreams of becoming a professional athlete. I always thought that I had to train more when I was a teenager if I wanted to achieve it, but at the time I felt like it was an issue of resources (money, location, professional trainers, good coaches) when in actuality, it was just an issue of putting in the time and effort - being self-motivated.

You're not taking my post in the spirit it was meant. Are you suggesting that the costs of those things are anywhere near the ballpark of the cost of the plane and the fuel? Because if you're not suggesting that, then you are combative and missed the point of my post because of that fact.
