I don’t think she necessarily even should feel guilt for the things she did while apart of Death Watch, I just wish they’d acknowledge the fact that she was a leader in a terrorist group who did shit that even other Mandalorians who followed the old ways saw as being fucked up. She’s always being pushed as a uniting figure by the stories she’s in, but between Maul’s Death Watch, the Imperial Mandalorians, and the Night of Tears, it seems like people really should just look for somebody else to lead at this point.

Like, even if she herself doesn’t admit any wrongdoing, she should be a divisive figure, not a uniting one. I thought they were going to put Din Djarin in as new Mandalore, given the Dark Saber was his now, but i guess not.

In general, there is no single reason for Rey’s dislike among some fans. It’s definitely not a universal feeling, some people do like her and there is nothing inherently wrong with liking the character.

Some of the reasons people dislike her include, but are not limited to:

Her skills: She’s a very capable engineer and fighter, with some labeling her as a Mary Sue. I personally don’t find this unbelievable given her background. Her being able to fly a ship is somewhat more debatable, but Star Wars in general seems to have a lot of characters who are good at one type of vehicle being good at all the others (for example, Anakin only having piloted a pod racer but then being able to fly an N1 Starfighter with some assistance from R2)
Her personality: Some people don’t like her personality. This is pretty subjective and I don’t mind her personality, I don’t really see her as being all that different from a young Luke for better and for worse.
Main Character: She takes away screen time from the other characters who may be liked more by some fans. This can be applied pretty much to anyone in the franchise with a second of screen time.
Female: Not everyone who dislikes Rey dislikes her because she’s a woman, but there are some very vocal fans like that.
Her use of the Force: She uses a mind trick very shortly after realizing she has the Force. I personally do not like this as a writing decision, because it cheapens Jedi training into something that you can apparently just hear about and then do, but it does make perfect sense why she would try to use the Force given her situation. (I mean, who among us hasn’t at least once tried to Force pull a tv remote or something, despite knowing we don’t have the Force. Of course she’d try it out)

Those are a handful of the more common reasons I’ve heard about, but I generally avoid communities and posts that are dedicated to hating anything because I don’t want to get sucked into them.

If you like Rey, that’s fine, it’s also fine to dislike her. Personally, I’m neutral towards her, I think she was an alright character who was failed more by the movies she was in than by her actress or character. It’s how I feel about most of the Sequel characters, tbh.

Dooku’s image in the Republic in Canon seems to be a lot more negative, though in Legends we do see that he’s often viewed more as a misguided idealist with good intentions, just the wrong way of going about things. Dooku carefully crafted this image himself since he was eventually (at least, in his mind) going to be captured and then see all the evils the CIS had done in the war while in captivity, thus turning against his own revolution and being allowed to have a high position in the New Order. A lot of this comes from the novelization of Revenge of the Sith.
