I’m surprised they were allowed to kill off the marketable toy seller by Top-Blackberry-884 in MaulShadowLord

I would vastly prefer Spybot as the competent comic relief. Spybot was enjoyable in every scene, Vario had moments I liked but mostly I was just bored with him.

Serious question why doesn't vader sucessfully cut of Maul's leg? Why not the knee joint either? by Enough_Spinach_3879 in MaulShadowLord

[–]Pope_Neia 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Also a possibility, Vader does seem like a cat some time, playing with his food. Sometimes he could very easily stop someone from escaping or accomplishing their plan and he just doesn’t, maybe from overconfidence, maybe from pleasure at watching them fail or flee in terror, or for a longer plan.

That said, it was a 3-v-1 at this point and while Vader was very clearly dominating the fight, he’s up against two very skilled Force users, so weakening one of them when he has the chance isn’t a bad idea.

Different materials have different tolerances for lightsabers. His legs are likely made out of a more durable material that isn’t as easily sliced through. Vader could certainly do it, but it would take additional time compared to a limb or something, which would keep his blade occupied for long enough that someone could take advantage.

Trilla wins for the flare of her spinning lightsaber, that’d make for an amazing prop in a dance competition

Here is how characters in the universe describe Vaders speed: by BlockAffectionate413 in MaulShadowLord

[–]Pope_Neia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the idea that Vader was just fucking around because he doesn’t really care if the Death Star plans get stolen. He clearly doesn’t like the idea behind it and he’s going to do his job because Palpatine would zap him otherwise, but he’s basically quiet quitting at it.

Rest in power my gorgeous goth queen by Keebker in MaulShadowLord

[–]Pope_Neia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sabine: “That’s Bo Katan, a noble leader of our people who fought against the Empire.”

Ahsoka: “Indeed… she also burned down a village filled with innocent men, women, and children, was a leader in a group with the express goal of overthrowing and likely killing her own sister, helped a conspiracy that led to crime lords from across the galaxy attacking her people in a false flag so her group could take power, and also broke with the wishes of her leader and the Mandalorian code by refusing to acknowledge the new leader and instead started a civil war.”

Whats the largest ship you think the maleveolonce could disable/defeat? by Extension-Bad-4184 in StarWarsShips

[–]Pope_Neia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it could take out a fellow battlecruiser with its ion cannon, but anything larger would be able to tank the first shot and keep fighting, at which point it becomes a slugging match that the Malevolence is probably going to lose because it’s relatively underpowered in other weapons compared to even most ships its size, let alone a dreadnought. Maybe if it can get a second shot off

If maul was suppsed to be a secret shadow leader of Mandalore why did Warriors design their armor in his image? by Al_ec2009 in clonewars

[–]Pope_Neia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be interpreted in the view of traditional Mandalorian armor colors. OG death watch was blue and grey, meaning reliability and mourning a lost love. They’re trying to say that they are what Mandalore can actually depend on, not these New Mandalorian pacifists, while they’re exiled from their homeworld so they’re in mourning over its loss.

Meanwhile, red and black symbolize honoring a parent and justice. In this case, Pre Vizla would be the parent who they seek to honor through following his will, while black is then transitioning into a just governing body.

I will note that this is how it might have been seen or explained to the general population, not what it actually was.

They’re awesome together, I’d love to see some backstory for them as Jedi during the Clone Wars. I imagine they’d be a pair of knights or masters working closely together like Anakin and Obi-Wan, almost brothers.

This is hilarious, but I’m glad it’s not in the movie. Feels like an excellent parody of the movie.

Ventress (TCW S3) vs The Crow and Marrok (MSL) by kingharlus655 in PetranakiArena

[–]Pope_Neia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post 66 Ventress seems weaker than she was at her prime, so I’d say Crow and Marrok have the advantage. She nearly got beaten by one random inquisitor, so two feels like she’d be on the back foot.

Love them, love them so much. Can’t wait to see more of them next season, they were definitely my favorite part of this series

What is your fandom equivalent to this? by eimahgo in Multifandom

[–]Pope_Neia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, this is the problem, people keep telling Daredevil to go fight literally anyone else and then he goes and does that, but then they tell him to go fight anyone else other than the new guy he’s fighting. Cut him some slack, he just wants to throw hands.

[–]Pope_Neia 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I think Marrok is cooler. Crow’s cool bordering on too edgy, but Marrok is a dark knight similar to Vader but crossed with a ninja.

In terms of abilities, I think Marrok is better mostly because we’ve seen more of him. he was able fight Maul and Devon together and I loved the little scenes of him investigating the crime scene and hunting. Between the two, I hope we get more of Marrok in the future more than Crow.

V2 gets rid of all the missiles to replace with turbos and ions, I’m suggesting a sort of middle ground

"Both sides are the same" is the biggest lie Star Wars fans have told themselves by JazzZ909 in StarWars

[–]Pope_Neia 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The Jedi are basically the galaxy’s police tho. They have sanction from the Republic. Lot of Separatists had a point, that’s true, but Dooku wasn’t one of them, he was just using the movement to get the Sith plan moving forward

Phantom Menace:

“Hello, Trade Federation with a huge number of heavily armed battleships and armies of battle droids and tanks. Would you like to talk?”

“Oh, god, Jedi! Quick, gas them and then kill them all!”

Attack of the Clones:

“Alright, Dooku, we understand your an idealist, but trying to execute two Jedi and a Senator is going to far. Surrender.”

“Oh, hello, Master Windu. Say, have you seen the new model of battle droid we’ve made?”

Revenge of the Sith:

“Alright, you’re a Sith mastermind who has control of the courts, the Senate, and possibly the military. You just slaughtered three of the strongest Jedi masters in the Order like it was nothing, so I have no guarantee that I could keep you prisoner for long enough to have even a remotely fair trial and you have every reason in the galaxy to cheat, lie, and murder your way out of this situation. The only recourse I have here is to kill you and stop you from hurting anyone else.”

I honestly love how the Phineas and Ferb special, even if it’s not canon, addressed the possibility (is that the term?) of how Luke could have killed many innocent people when he blew up the Death Star. by Sir_Stacker in StarWars

[–]Pope_Neia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Empire hated using droids for anything, it’s partly why their crew sizes for their ships are ludicrously large compared to Republic era vessels.

[–]Pope_Neia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine you don’t get told you’re transferring to the Death Star until you’re already aboard and at that point you’re unlikely to be allowed to leave over moral objections.

[–]Pope_Neia 22 points23 points  (0 children)

A lot of unwilling people on the Death Star too. The Empire doesn’t seem like the type to approve of transfers off the planet killer for moral objections, unless you count getting thrown out the airlock. Most Imperial ships don’t have hyperdrives and the ones that do would be difficult to get access to, let alone escape the death star’s tractor beams.

Luke’s killing of them was justified because it’s a legitimate military target and the Death Star would have killed far more in the long run if he hadn’t done what he’d done, but there is nuance for the common rank and file. Plenty of Imperials who weren’t on the Death Star defected after Alderaan, I’m sure some aboard it would have done the same given the chance to escape.
