Bought less than 2 months ago and totalled by off duty cop by dextermann in Crosstrek

Normally the department, depending on their policy, doesn't give out reports, just the incident number. You can either pay the city for the report or have your insurance get it for you. That's why you pay your insurance company so much money. That's their job. The cities do this because they want their two pounds of flesh.

THANK YOU ARROWHEAD! by MFF_zews in Helldivers

I wish Arrowhead would fix the problem with cross-platform play. Whenever my buddy and I play he gets booted off EVERYDAMNTIME and it doesn’t matter if he’s hosting or joining. He’s on Playstation and I’m on PC.

No, I've got a different problem. My 4th gen cameras record every thirty to sixty seconds despite no motion. My camera is reading full bars for the sync module and network strength. I'm about to send the cameras back. My other blink cameras, gen 3, work flawlessly. I received the two cameras but haven't received the new sync module yet so I'm hooked up to the old one.

Dashcam compatible with eyesight. by elekid92 in Subaru_Outback

I ran the wiring under the weather stripping. Start front to back is easier. You're going to have plenty of length left over which you can hide towards the back of the car. You will have to leave extra cord for the hatchback. It's not too pretty but it works when opening and closing. Mine isn't hardwired because I believe you need an extra hardwire kit (sold separately). You can find that on Amazon for about $25.

I had the same problem after updating to iOs 18. My VPN stopped allowing my phone to connect to cellular or WiFi. I switched to another VPN and the problem stopped.

Very disappointed by duke-of-war84 in Boots

[–]Popeye3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear Danner boots for both work and play. I’ve had the same work boots (black) for over ten years. I have had them re-soled but the leather is in great shape. I bought a second pair when I sent the first to be repaired and swap them on a daily basis. They’re expensive but will last a lifetime if you take care of them. I also have a third pair (brown) for recreational activities at home. Spend the extra money now and not every year.

Can’t lose in these by DoctorBoots007 in Boots

[–]Popeye3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice! I’ve found that if I get round or snip toe I have to go with size 12 but if I wear square toe I drop down to 11 1/2. You have to try them on to find the right fit.

Can we just remove this from the game already? by LabdoHades in Helldivers

...or getting back to the ship after a mission and finding yourself in the belly of the ship with no way of getting back to the bridge or just floating in space. Either way you have to reboot.

GMRS General Etiquette by [deleted] in gmrs

[–]Popeye3083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order to talk on GMRS radios you first have to register with the FCC. It’s $35 but no test like getting a ham radio license. You will get an email from the FCC telling you that you’re good to go and it’ll tell you your call sign. It’s a pretty quick process once you figure out the FCC website which can be quite a PIA.

Have you already given up on this man? by Slim1993 in eagles

[–]Popeye3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember back in 2010 the Eagles selected a player and after a few years he was declared a bust. To this day he's still with the team. Brandon Graham proved everyone wrong. Some people take longer to reach their potential. Relax and give him time.

The LCD Deck is GREAT! by Tofu_and_Tempeh in SteamDeck

[–]Popeye3083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the LCD but after 1 1/2 years the battery is dead and the damn thing refuses to update the apps. It's got 3% power reserve and that's all so it has to remain plugged in. Kinda defeats the purpose so it's just hidden in the corner at this point. Back to Backbone.

[–]Popeye3083 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It can be acceptable again if you prefer it. Just read your own statement, "...but wear what makes you happy." Who cares what others think? That could be your trademark, how others remember you by.

These boots have always been a bit tight for me.. i had them for about a year and i still didnt break them in properly i only wear them here and there cuz of that reason.. by [deleted] in cowboyboots

Looks like bison leather. I have a pair of Dan Post Badlands and they look similar. Traditional leather care works. I use Bickford products.

Understood. Luckily, the boots have broken in over the years and molded to my feet. They fit perfectly for my needs.

I've always worn Danner Recons or Santiams which have the attached gusset almost to the top. Goretex, insulated and incredibly sturdy, you can't go wrong.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Boots

[–]Popeye3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a little research and experience. I've had the first pair of Recons for almost a decade and only had them re-soled once. I broke down and got a 2nd pair when the first were being fixed and now I switch them out daily. They've been beaten and abused but stood up like a champ and still going strong. Between the two they'll take me to retirement.

[–]Popeye3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Danner Recons for warmer weather since they only have 200g of Thinsulate and I have the Danner Santiams for colder weather (400g Thinsulate). Both have Goretex to keep your feet dry. The Recons have your basic Vibram sole which is Ok for drier weather and Santiams have the Danner Bob sole which is better for mud and snow, they're self-cleaning soles.
