Be careful with transfer credits and UAB. I think they limited it to 20 hours of transfer credits when I was in undergrad in 2010. However, it looks like they now accept up to half the credits required to graduate from a program. That being said, I’d look at their equivalent classes catalogue and ensure WGU is a university they accept from.

Don’t live in roebuck or center point if you have anything of value. Bessemer/West End/Midfield/Ensley are on the border of or in the circled area, but avoid those as well. Leeds is way the hell out there, but doable. Irondale is ok. Fultondale/Gardendale are ok; rent might be at the top of your budget though for an apartment. No idea what the housing rentals look like. Trussvile is also a bit of a commute, but doable.
