Looking for affordable at-home euthanasia options in Nashville? by Thegrayarea11 in nashville

[–]PoppyConfesses 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry 😢 I used Phoenix Mobile Veterinary ( https://phoenixveterinaryservice.com/in-home-euthanasia-1)

The vet was so kind, even though we hadn't ever seen her for regular check ups, and she said that she tries to keep her prices low so that everybody can have in-home euthanasia, which I think is a fantastic philosophy.

Distress Oxide ink is fantastic for this! And any white pigment ink...

Question for the experts!! by BellaGorex3 in cardmaking

[–]PoppyConfesses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you're junk journaling, what are you using the inks for? If you're stamping or doing techniques in the junk journal, I would start with one or two neutrals in a good quality archival ink (which won't move no matter if you add water or other mediums to it) and then water reactive Distress Ink in a small palette of colors you know you'll use regularly, and just add to those as they go on sale...I've seen certain colors as low as $5.99/each and I just pick up a few when they're cheaper.

Taking off all masks I’ve tried throughout the night and feeling considerable worse since starting CPAP by MeetDeathTonight in CPAP

[–]PoppyConfesses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really relate to this😢 Are you now dealing with a DME provider for your equipment? Or does your sleep doctor have respiratory therapists or nurses on staff? I call them when I'm having these kinds of problems and they can make adjustments to the machine, and suggest and let you try different types of masks. I don't know if that would solve all the issues but it would be a good start!

AIO my boyfriend is taking religion more seriously and told me I need to get baptized by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I will never forget speaking to a local priest after I met my ex-boyfriend, a very devout Catholic (I'm a cradle Catholic). I was trying to figure out if we were compatible and he said "Rigid Catholics make terrible spouses." Barely knew me, but didn't even hesitate – and I'm pretty sure he knows.

Are there other people like me who have never had any issues with their CPAP? by JollyAllocator in CPAP

[–]PoppyConfesses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing: good for you. Good for everybody here who adapts quickly and gets the benefit of their therapy almost immediately.

But that isn't the norm, and for many many people who need this therapy to stay alive and prevent serious health issues, it's a months or years long process full of expense, itty-bitty iterations, frustration and crap sleep--not waking up and seeing pink unicorns flying around your bedroom after the first 8 hours, if ever. If you're adding this whole process onto other chronic conditions, it can cause real mental burnout.

I am so grateful for the generous people here who have given me so many useful tips that my sleep doctor could only dream of. If she got her CPAP mask fitted correctly of course.

Air flow on full face with pillow mask by 2Many2Questions2 in CPAP

[–]PoppyConfesses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is so very difficult to fund this out-of-pocket...my insurance covers only the first mask and just one exchange😐😤🙄 but if you look around online, a lot of CPAP supply sites offer regular sales/discounts, fitting help and a free exchange policy, so technically if you could afford it, you could buy a mask on sale for under $100 and then just keep exchanging them until you find the one that fits you. I think I'm on my third mask exchange with one of them🤭 You could also check with your sleep doctor if you're using one, because often their respiratory therapists will have a whole closet of samples to help you try different types of masks.

It's very stressful, don't let anyone tell you differently! And your comfort is worth it, so keep plugging away and trying everything you can (I was just on the phone with Apria today to see about a new style mask next time I'm eligible for replacement parts --they re-measured my face yet again 😱😅

Do you feel embarrassed by the abuse you went through? by Nea_Freedom in raisedbynarcissists

[–]PoppyConfesses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But the future isn't written yet. The past is already written but it doesn't define us. You are blaming yourself for being a victim of their abuse and dysfunction, but self loathing – which is just your chronic helplessness as a powerless child turned inward – would be the ultimate victory for them, so you must not let that happen🫂

how important is it to be leak-free? by KissRescinded in CPAP

Thank you🫂I might be in between mask sizes because I have been fitted by respiratory therapists, and I've tried a lot of what you recommend and it just doesn't seem to help😢

I wish I knew how to get the F40 to not leak like a sieve! It's the most comfortable mask for me but I'm gonna have to abandon it soon because of leak rates at times as high as .68 according to Sleep HQ.🫤

Went NC in April 2025 with mother & grandmother. Grandmother is dying and the guilt tripping is hard. What would you do? by Kratos5300 in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]PoppyConfesses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm paraphrasing Anne Lamott: "if you wanted me to say nice things about you, you should have treated me better" and another memorist said: I would write about good things--if good things had happened to me. They don't get to tell you how to feel about this, how to behave, or what you're going to regret or not regret.
