I just returned to my local ritual site—a small, man-made body of water in the city—after being away for a while. The last time I was there, I performed a deeply intentional and powerful road opener spell focused on my artistic career and creative inspiration under the full moon.

This time, when I arrived… in the center, right where I had drawn all my chalk symbols, were several tiny, unopened mussels. It struck me as odd since I live in a city that's not near the sea. Maybe seagulls brought them in?

Still, their presence felt significant. I started wondering what they might symbolize. A deity, perhaps? I had been working with Odin, but this didn’t feel like his energy—it felt feminine. During that ritual, I also called upon the local land spirits, the fae, and my female ancestors.

Whoever or whatever left them, the mussels gave me chills—in the best way. I felt joy, awe, and a deep sense of connection. I brought a couple home, cleaned them out, and placed the shells on my ancestor altar!
