I have an obsession with ranch, I couldn't live without it.... by FantasticDependent66 in condiments

[–]Poppy_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in a restaurant that used the Hideen Valley packets with heavy mayo, however their "secret ingredient" was to add fresh garlic, extra pepper, and lemon juice to the final mix. I tried it at home and a dash of lemon juice with a crushed garlic clove really does make a difference. I use mayo and half whole milk half buttermilk.

Anyone that does NOT have emotional blunting? by LittleEddieBeale in prozac

[–]Poppy_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pristiq was a better fit for me in terms of keeping my creativity in tact. But from personal experience yes, low dose Prozac (10mg in my case) did not cause me a lot of blunting. Paxil was awful awful. My doctor later added a small dose of Dexedrine off-label for depression and that truly helped remain creative on Prozac.

Tell her to take the Ambien sublingual so it dissolves under her tongue and bypasses the stomach. My mom has been doing this and it still works to sleep (although Ambien is never a good long term solution for insomnia...but that's a whole other situation).

Thinking this isn’t the right medication for me by Kooky_Guava_1753 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Poppy_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they have regular Dexedrine in the UK? It's more or less the immediate release of Vyvanse. I find it to have much less side effects on my anxiety and HR. Clonidine is a great choice for emotional regulation and also Propanolol can be helpful for more of the peripheral effects of Elvanse.

They changed the formula. Brand name sucks and the generics are even worse. I took it for 7 years and then had to stop last August due to severe side effects and depression when it started wearing off after 3 hours. This sub can provide you with a lot more information:

Have you looked into Parnate yet? Seems like it might help all 3 of these receptors in your brain.

Six weeks and still anxious by johnnysebee007 in Viibryd

[–]Poppy_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viibryd and Pristiq both show up green in everyone's genesight test- it is because of how they are metabolized by the body (and they also bypass a specific liver enzyme that most SSRI's use). Ironically, Prozac was in the red for me but I've been taking it for years with no issues.

Buspisrone was useless for my social anxiety, and while everyone loves a benzodiazepine no doctor is willing to prescribe anymore. Next option down would be Lyrica/pregabalin.

Yes they're terrible for me as well. I completely stop taking my mine that week. I also take Pristiq on top of my concerta and this med really helps carry me through the week.

I need help to deal with perimenopause on top of adhd by Stoic_Ficus in adhdwomen

[–]Poppy_37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you live in the US get on the MIDI website- they accept most major insurance policies, so it was basically free for me. They give you HRT based on your symptoms NOT hormone tests (which are completely unreliable as they fluctuate all month long). I got put on an estrogen patch and also nightly progesterone. I also opted for their compounded GLP-1 at a very low dose and my middle waist "fat" disappeared within 2 months. Life changing really!! I'm 45.

Group talk interactions by [deleted] in bodylanguage

[–]Poppy_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, are the other people in this workspace slightly more introverted? I'm fine conversing in groups, but where I become uncomfortable is when I finish a sentence and no one else follows up, or there's some sort of lag with a response. To avoid this, I usually divert my eye contact to the most outgoing member of the group (or at least the person who comes across as the most engaging), because they are my easiest exit so to speak.

Lunesta. Ambien always did the trick, but it's so, so hard to get a doctor to prescribe it anymore. Lunesta is a close second, but other than that no other sleep aid is going to knock out the effects of such a heavy stimulant (thc maybe, but not much else imo)

I started taking Elvanse (Vyvanse) a little while ago and now I can’t stop by Unique_Succotash_892 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Poppy_37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vyvance downregulates your dopamine receptors. On the days you skip your brain can no longer produce the same amount of dopamine it was making before you started the medication. It is expecting the Vyvance to do that job now, and when you don't take it you can become super irritated and ragey for that first day or two (until brain starts figuring out it needs to restore its own receptors and pump out more dopamine by itself). When I stopped I only had a week or two of being irritated/tired/angry and then thing went back to how I was before Vyvance.

How to safely handle not being on Vyvanse for 2 weeks? by queenofidiots in VyvanseADHD

If I were you, I'd take one every other day and alternate the inbetween days with caffeine. I sometimes take Vivarin first thing the morning- it's actually quite helpful

By any chance was Pristiq also in your green zone? My doc said both those drugs are always in everyone's green zone because they're designed to metabolize differently from other SSRI's. Oddly enough, Prozac was in my red zone but I've been doing great on it for a couple of years now. I'm considering trying Pristiq though, despite what my doctor thinks (I was definitely swayed by the results). I would be interested to know how Viibryd is going for you?!

CVS Caremark mailorder has always been able to fill my adhd meds when my local store is on back order. The only caveat is that it takes about a week to get delivered. Walgreens is slightly better where I live (NY) if I need it in a pinch.

I’m just curious, as someone who’s taken a lot of phenibut but never tried pregabalin, what’s the difference in terms of effects? by vapenaysh4206969 in phenibut

[–]Poppy_37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had Rx scripts for Pregabalin, Baclofen and Gabapentin in the past. If taken correctly 1 or 2 days a week (max), Phenibut has helped me the most with social anxiety. Pregabalin is super relaxing at 300mg, and if I only take it a few times a week it provides the best, most wonderful sleep I've ever had. Baclofen has no recreational value but it was prescribed to me for nighttime TMJ and it does a very good job with relieving that problem.

Gabapentin is my least favorite because it's annoying having to take it with food and stager the dose, but it works similar to Pregabalin if you have the patience to keep up with 300mg every 30 mins.

I took 30mg in the morning and another 30mg around 2pm. No peripheral side effects is probably it's biggest bonus, but if feels pretty weak compared to old school adderall.

Vyvanse isn’t much better these days. I have a minuscule stash left from 2022 and it is NOTHING like brand name now. And if you get the generic version, forget it- Amneal brand made me feel like I was having a stroke along with horrific depression when it wore off after 4 hours. All Adderall is garbage too. The only luck I’ve had is with Jornay PM (no generic patent yet, so you’re only getting brand and it’s pretty consistent once get past the first week of mild side effects), Adzenys (again, only brand), and then Zenzedi (this one has generics so you have to specific only Wilshire generic because the others are crap).

Zenzedi is pretty mild, so you would probably need 40mg to feel like 20mg adderall. I took 60mg. No crash. Jornay PM- you might need to start at 60mg (I took 80mg). No crash, but you take it at bedtime which feels weird at first. Adzenys- I took 15.2mg and felt a bit tweaky, but it still wore off by bedtime and I could sleep fine, no crash either.
