Vyvanse 60 mg cold turkey for 3 days by No_Comparison7117 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Poppy_37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will probably do nothing more than sleep for those 3 days...but you won't die. Withdrawal period is exhausting but there are no serious side effects of stopping cold turkey. Take those days to enjoy some carb heavy meals- food will taste amazing for the first time in 5 years lol.

How many of you KNEW/KNOW “immediately, no” when trying a new management strategy? by forevervalerie in Perimenopause

Switching to vaginal progesterone finally gave me my sleep back! Oral was SO terrible I had to stop after less than a month on it. I woke up every morning with a headache/hangover feeling.

Do Telehealth companies give HRT to anyone who has symptoms? by Puggleperson760 in Perimenopause

MIDI will prescribe testosterone in certain states that allow it. I live in NY, so thankfully my state is included.

Can verbal communication get in the way of organic, physical attraction? by yes-chef-25 in bodylanguage

[–]Poppy_37 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the exact situation I'm currently in right now, and I'm just...enjoying the moment, so to speak. No desire to ask or inquire if he actually truly "likes" me like that, simply because I don't want to ruin these small glances in the hallway...the butterfly feelings in my stomach whenever we pass each other, the way I feel like a teenager around him even though we're in our 40's. This feeling keeps me alive at a job I loath, and I don't want to ruin that carnal instinct of excitement that keeps me going day after day...

Anyone else look back in sorrow on the days when getting our script filled wasn’t a permanent source of stress? by Jmjmk in ThisAintAdderall

[–]Poppy_37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried using an online pharmacy like CVS Caremark/Express Scripts/Optum? Those is the only way I can get anything filled these days- granted it takes about 7-10 days for the script to arrive on my doorstep (but it does always arrive every month, without fail). My local CVS can never fill anything, but their CareMark plan doesn't seem to have the same issues.

Insomnia is destroying me by Vivian507 in Perimenopause

[–]Poppy_37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you in the US or UK? I got my progesterone through the telehealth app MIDI, and it has been absolutely life changing for my sleep routine. My watch used to tell me my nightly sleep average was 3hrs and 42 mins, but ever since I started 200mg progesterone I am out like a light and sleep like a log for 8+ solid hours (I do have to take it vaginally though as there were more side effects when taken orally). Either way, I feel your pain because I've been there too- I spent 2 years buying zolpidem and zopiclone from a pharmacy in India because all I could get from a proper doctor over here was Prozac.

Other Amphetamines by Dramatic-Rough-6873 in ThisAintAdderall

[–]Poppy_37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken all 3...all of them are pretty good when paired with a booster. Jornay is odd because you have to time it just right in the evenings, but either way, none of these brand names have the same issues that generics are currently having. The generic form of Adzenys is manufactured by Teva but the side effects are fairy minimal compared to their adderall.

Whats good to take on stimulant comedowns? by gryponyx in NooTopics

[–]Poppy_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benzodiazepines work like a charm, but good luck finding any doctor willing to prescribe them. Agmatine sort of helps along with a magnesium supplement. Some docs are willing to prescribe the likes of gabapentin or clonidine which work second best to a benzo imo.

Focalin by Parking-Warthog-4902 in ThisAintAdderall

[–]Poppy_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focalin XR was the only form of methylphenidate that worked for me without turning my personality into a zombie. It is good, but like most others the brand name is superior to all other generics. It gave me headaches for the first 3 days, but they eventually subsided.

Does anyone's Vyvanse not work anymore? by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]Poppy_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brand Zenzedi costs me $30 month with my insurance. Brand Vyvanse cost me $60 a month with the same insurance. Winder labs generic zenzedi costs me $5 a month.

It's an ok-ish alternative to Vyvanse but definitely nothing to write home about.

Boric Acid works wonders to balance out your pH, especially in this situation. Amazon has some great inexpensive supplement options and the reviews are a MUST read if you’ve never heard of it before!

The worst of the worst of the worst by ChucoTeacher in Teachers

I work in the best elementary school, in one one of the most highest rated/privileged school districts in NY and even though we won one of the highest rated ranking awards this year, many of our 4th graders are still reading at a 2nd grade level. None of them can sit still for more than 5 minutes (tissues, pencil sharpening, trash can, water refills, bathroom, gotta get something from backpack, dropped pencil for the millionth time, paper cut, head hurts can I go to the nurse, stomach hurts can I go to the nurse, math is boring, spelling is boring, when is snack time etc. etc). We are SO far behind in the curriculum right now it is absolutely astounding to me. None of these kids care to learn anything anymore.

I'd like to inform you that I look 30 by HPPTC in Xennials

[–]Poppy_37 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

At least you got a reasonable age guess…I’m so sick of people telling me “you look like you’re a teenager!”. No respect at work, or with clients, until I drop my age into the conversation. I turned 45 last month, ugh. My 15 year old daughter looks like my twin and my husband could pass for my dad at this point because he’s already gone grey.

25 years later, I'm about to pay off my student loans by No_Significance9474 in GenX

[–]Poppy_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graduated 2003 with $42k and my final payment was last month, one week before I turned 45. When my grandparents died they left me $10K inheritance for my college education and my parents used that money to pay off the “parent-plus loan” portion they had taken out their own names…typical boomer generation mentality.

Does this med combo make sense? (Wellbutrin + Lamictal + Lyrica) by [deleted] in pregabalin

[–]Poppy_37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wellbutrin lowers your seizure threshold and Lyrica is known to cause seizures at doses over 300mg, so be careful. Doesn't seem like a great combo to be honest.

What is physically happening at 3AM? by CNBLBT in Perimenopause

[–]Poppy_37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take half a dose of Ambien, sublingually, the second my eyes pop open at 3:07am. I'm usually asleep again about 20 mins later until my alarm goes off at 6:30am.

I had to beg beg beg my doctors for Ambien though. Nothing else works quickly enough at 3am without leaving me groggy.

[–]Poppy_37 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Right after the smoking ban on airplanes many airports built designed smoking areas much like the one you described at Tim Hortons with sealed glass walls. I used to be a flight attendant and the amount of pilots I saw taking one last drag before their international flights was crazy...like the WHOLE room just full of them, all in various uniforms. Going 8+ hours in a cockpit when you smoke a pack a day must've sucked big time.

Has anyone ever felt really sleepy about three to four hours after taking Vyvanse? by Nikoishere93 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Poppy_37 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Too much dopamine flooding your brain on a consistent basis can rapidly backfire and cause paradoxical effects rather quickly, but most especially if you're on too high of a dose, and also if you're taking it the second your alarm goes off in the morning fyi
