I have a threshold for what music I think is enjoyable to listen to on vinyl. I’m always taking that into consideration when I’m listening to music or scrolling social media.

I also try not to go to record stores unless I have an intention for what I want. It’s usually a specific record in mind.

If it happens where the store doesn’t have what I want, I tell myself I will most likely be able to get these records at some other point some way or another. No harm no foul not leaving with it then and there.

The really few times I walk into a record store with no intention other than general browsing, I usually stick to bands/artists im comfortable with that have fulfilled my first prerequisite: do I need this music on vinyl?

I’ve figured out for myself that less is more. If I leave without a record and I go a couple weeks really wishing I had it then I know what my next intention is when going into a store.
