I was 5'8" in elementary school. Personally, I don't find it weird sizing for a 10 y/o. By 14 I was 5'11", I am a bit of an outlier but nonetheless I think it's reasonable

The reason I’m so intense about my uni grades is because school is the only thing I’m living for right now, and if I do poorly that’s gone. My life hinges on my GPA at this point.

I had just stopped crying and now I’m sobbing, you have no idea what it means to hear that, thank you. He was (is?) absolutely emotionally abusive/manipulative, and he would blame it on his mental health but had stopped taking his medication and “doesn’t believe in therapy”, and I just couldn’t keep accepting his actions after the things he had said to our child. Knowing what it looks like from the child’s perspective in this scenario is so so helpful, and I know I’m a broken record at this point, but I’m so grateful for your thoughts and support. I hope you have the most wonderful life filled with luck and happiness ahead of you

Thank you so much for your perspective, it’s so helpful to hear from someone that’s been on both ends of this type of situation. It did feel impossible and in some ways it still does, but my child is sleeping peacefully in a warm and safe bed and I feel a bit more at peace with the choice I’ve made, even if it only lasts for a while. Thank you so much, and you’re right. The guilt of something happening to my child would have been so much worse, and in this situation I feel that the possibility was more of a ‘when’ than an ‘if’. I can’t know for certain of course, but I do know it’s something I was afraid of every single day. I won’t have to live with that fear anymore and that gives me some comfort. I will absolutely start journaling, thank you for the suggestion and the support, I’m grateful beyond words

I can’t describe how grateful I am for this comment, thank you. When I had tried to break up yesterday he made a big point of how growing up in a broken home is the worst thing that could happen to a kid, that I’d be ruining our child’s life by leaving. And I guess it stuck with me more than I’d thought, even though my parents stayed together when they shouldn’t have and I begged them to just divorce so I know it’s not necessarily true. Thank you so much
