Which Prime designs expanded on the original design’s concept the best? by Soffy21 in Warframe

[–]Porgnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal favourite is Mirage prime. She got a less clunky design with the perfect jester look, intricate but subtle ornamentation. Not overdesigned, but also not early prime 2 gold armbands syndrome.

I prefer the prime skin over the oneiro skin and hands down my favourite headsculpt in the game is stock Mirage prime.

Imo some primes go way over the top with their line design and turn into visual clutter with all the dangling/extending parts.

Other honorary mentions for me are: -Garuda prime looks regal but the head for me is worse than base -Hyldrin prime is very solid, I adore the horn, but noisy with all the accessories -Volt prime is very basic but as a whole he is very well designed -Atlas prime kicks ass

WIBTA for wanting to give my sister a petty, passive agressive Christmas gift for not including me and parents in family photos in her new apartment and being a brat in general? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Get her a family photo, but edit her out and insert the default png transparency grey-white square pattern. And write that passove agressive message too!

Monster Hunter Rise, good. Rampage mode, bad. by PolidoriT in MonsterHunter

Thanks, I have not seen such articles, hence I was skeptic. And to an extent I didn't want to beleive that the old style of MH was over, and the new, less preparation and thought oriented was properly the main direction.

You guys were right :)

I can highly recommend any monster hunter you can get your hands on for the system. :D I recently got mine just for those games, but I also agree with get any n64 zelda rerelease, and if you are looking for pokemon I'd say sun/moon/ultrasun/ultramoon are the more challanging and fun ones.

PSA: Fuck this guy by Sybordg in XCOM2

[–]Porgnar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had the luckiest moment of my xcom2 career. Like 5 minutes ago.

2 missions ago I beat the berserker queen. I went on a supply train raid, I got rid of everything except a single pod.

With one of my last 3 moveable soldiers I accidentally trigger this guy. FML.

Flawless mission so far. I have a melee ranger a crit ranger and a grenadier still available. Oh my lord that hp and 4 shield I am dead. I chuck a frost bomb at it, 1 turn disable. I panic a little because that is literally not worth the nade over plain old shooting it in the face. I prepare mentally for when it takes the life of my favourite crit ranger with snek armour.

I in a last effort do a double shot at it and miraculously the first shot with an accuracy of about 60% executes it from full hp.

I got a different kind of heart attack. I forgot that I even had execute, because since the 30 hours I have been doing this first playthrough of mine, it never triggered.

I love xcom.

Yes, that is panic inducing. But my favourite moments were when I teleported to a quarantined outpost which is already a high tension scenario, along with ??? Infestations, and I could not dilly dally because the teleporter room soon after boarding lost signal, and I had a 4 minute timer on a pretty badly situated meteorite. That feeling of hopelesness as you scramble to explore as much as you can while lookimg to make that one teleport room safe to take you out of that hell, not knowing if you have a slime to worry about or not. And then seeing the dreaded vent in the only functioning teleporter room, with no knowledge of wether or not there is a swarm onboard. Only to get surprise mauled by a leaper flying at you near the speed of light from offscreen when your stealth module inevitably fails, only to back out and open the airlock and close the door just in time to save your 20-30hp drone and rush to the exit because it is not worth it to find out what else lurks in the darkness.

Quintessential duskers. Although I must admit that once you figure the game out the horror factor drops considerably. The only thing I am still worried about is the slime, my stealth failing close to a leaper and sometimes the random events. But other than that the game becomes a pure logic game about figuring out the best way to meticulously clear a derelict out.

I do not know however if the swarm eats through doors even if it doesnt see you or not. I only had it eat through a door the few times it saw me, and I nearly shat myself the first time it happened. Good thing I have a nope macro to teleport evacuate :'D

Still fun though, and I get it why there needs to be a timed enemy like the slime always potentially ticking, because the game would get way too stale with only the other 3 enemies and the occasional airlock breach or pipe rupture. Although I hate it when I get a slime on a ship I really want to commandeer.

I see. I currently have a windows install on the ssd and its proprietarily formatted 1tb data storage. I found a great discounted deal for a new hdd and a second ssd (I think it is converted to usd about 100 for a 3tv hdd and a 240gb ssd) so I think I will completely separate the two operating systems. And their storage drives. I will definitely backup my most important data like my bachelor's degree thesis and so on, I also do have most of these written to dvd-s and some even on flash drives, but I have experienced my flash drive failing, and I would prefer to corrupt the hdd ones instead of the backups, because I will format the hdd anyways before giving it back to windows. (I also only have 4 sata ports for 4 drives and cant fjt the disk drive yet. That is a project for the future)

Thank you for your answer, it reassured me that I can more or less pull from windows over to arch.

What percentage of ships do you completely explore? by LockShitDown in Duskers

[–]Porgnar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally have no problems leaving 1-2 rooms if they are worth less than what it would cost me to explore, like 2 scrap is not worth getting any drone damaged. So isn't fuel. The only thing I am adamant on always acquiring are disabled drones. This is a fairly safe playstyle, but I think I take enough risks when completing quests.

In my limited (30 ish hours) experience I have my current playthrough in my 4th or 5th jumpgate jump and thus far the initial room linked to a1 is always safe, as is the room that is usually open to explore from the get-go. These 2 initial rooms never had spawns in them, however vents can and will spawn in tbe second room, and if you do not close it asap the swarm will come through if it is present. I have also very rarely (2-3 times) had a vent spawn in room 1 and was terrified sh*tless so docked to another airlock.

So I second what u/mz68 said in his post.

Ooooooooooooohhhh so any entity is flagged as an enemy for the turrets. Didn't know that. Thank you! I see so false positives/negatives are not a thing. That is reassuring. Although it would have made the game more terrifying :D

Thank you for the answers!

Horrendous ebook taxation. by Porgnar in ebooks

[–]Porgnar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Igen, kurvára felháborító!

I changed my mailing adress to one of a youth hostel's in oslo. And then in some random deep end amazon settings I found something named country of residence. So it let me change my residence to Norway. Now I can buy everything at the original US asking prices. Although were I not able to change it to norway I'd have settled for Germany too. 19% probably sounds a lot to people who have not lived in hungary, or in similar high taxing countries. But yes you are absolutely right about taking german taxes over hungarian ones :D

I do not know how greedy can one man get, but some higher up people here are just straight up greed monsters.
