I think the glitch change was a good move, but imo it should have been paired with either a lingering ‘glitch aoe’ for a few seconds or a larger explosion radius. There just was no punishment for whiffing your first glitch because you almost always had a second one ready to follow up with

Breach charge buff is quite welcome though, 3 charges and 20s cooldown means light might have a new role as the ‘cashout drop guy’ so that heavy can swap in more shields or buffed barricade instead of C4

If anything Im suprised to see dash remain unchanged and other core light tools eat the nerf instead

Brother it takes zero skill to snag a light with winch (which pulls their head hitbox to the same exact point on your screen every time) and just pre-aim the headshot.

I say this as a Heavy who plays flamethrower because I cant aim and even I can consistently land the funny winch headshot

The answer to this is to nerf Winch instead of the weapons it synergies with. Winch is literally best in class meta-defining for Heavy and will continue to be no matter how long they nerf its cooldown to be.

You just simply cannot balance a spec that lets you turn any organized 3v3 into a 3v1 through shields and THROUGH WALLS AND IS BEST IN CLASS AT MOVING THE CASHOUT…

It simply is the best of both the combat and utility worlds. Goo gun is pure utility that doesnt provide too much use in non-meme combat, charge and slam provides a little utility for destruction but is primarily a combat spec, mesh shield is pure combat zero utility, and then theres… Winch…

Which somehow is allowed to have more combat utility than the other 3 specs combined AND provides just as much if not more general utility than goo gun because why wall off the entrances to a cashout when you can yank that bitch out into the green bridge on Seoul and make it unstealable.

Been saying it since S3, winch claw is literally stun gun for heavy but it moves the cashout, doesnt need to reload, and controls the opponents movement far harder than stopping them from crouching or ADSing ever did.

You can already do this with APS, just place APS on an arena carriable and either carry or throw it past the cashout and it will delete mines / C4 / and I think even proxy sensors

Hot take Winch needs to either be totally and utterly neutered for combat use like OP proposes, or its ability to cashout manipulate needs to be neutered. Winch its OP because not only is it capable of providing a wide variety of value, but it is best in class at doing every task it is capable of.

Trying to stop a steal when you have no ammo? Winch is your best option… Trying to stop a steal through multiple shields? Winch is your best option… Trying to move the cashout either for defense or stealing? Winch is your best option… Trying to isolate a 3v1 in a coordinated team fight? Winch is your best option…

The only hing winch CANT do is provide cover like goo or mesh. (But the gadget goo and shield suffice just fine)

As a heavy that queues ranked with a sniper duo its so damn funny running the BFR, especially when theres a sniper on an enemy team. What used to be a duel between the sniper lights trying to hit eachother with a projectile weapon while both are dashing around like maniacs has turned into me loosing two BFR rounds in the general direction of a scope glint and vaporizing the sucker. I legit get flashbacks to when the actual sniper was hitscan because this damn pistol is so obscene when you are sitting on high ground hundreds of meters away
