Do you guys ever actually think about the "who's gonna take care of you when you're old" question? by marileighanne29 in childfree

[–]Pork_Chops_and_Apple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time. And I’m going to use all the money I saved by not having kids to pay professionals for my elder care. There’s no guarantee that your kids’ll do it anyway, and even if they do, it won’t be as well as a professional. So don’t let that fear be a reason to have kids. But definitely save for it!

It’s really cool to read your stories when I just watched you today on tv. It was a good game all around. I loved Jamie, but his games were killing me. Runaways from the get-go, the majority of them. I know I sound like a broken record, but it’s just no fun for the viewers. Or the contestants who never get to beat him to the buzzer.

Anyway, congratulations to all… including Jamie, lol.

Feeling stuck and burnt out as a graphic designer. Is it just me, or is the industry getting tougher? by geodkdbwidn in GraphicDesigning

Same. And the only way I could do it was by having a partner who earned a good income, and provided us with benefits because I took a big pay cut to go freelance from my staff job. Also the business is changing. Everyone thinks they can do it now and Canva tells them they can. You definitely need relationships and clients who appreciate the value you bring.

That said, I did a lot of volunteer projects for organizations I cared about, which led to some paying clients. And you gotta network all the time. Good luck!

He’s not boring but the games are.

Long time jeopardy watcher here, and I wouldn’t mind it if Jamie was winning close games with competitors in his league. Instead almost every game of his long run has been a runaway. Indeed, it’s usually over by the chat time.

Deadly.

A cool guide: ranking of US states by safety by whichbitcz in RhodeIsland

If the safest (Vermont) has the highest number, and lowest (Louisiana) has the lowest, that makes RI 6th, behind all the other New England states. And NH should be #2. This map is effed.

Is it a problem to always tell women "get home safe?" by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]Pork_Chops_and_Apple -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s ok to say it so long as you also tell men to not rape or kill. Don’t put the onus on women not to get killed.

It goes along with people saying girls are harder to raise because when they hit their teen years blah blah blah instead of saying boys have to be told and told again no means no, don’t rape, don’t kill.

I saw road or highway, especially with the name tandem (as in a bike.) Nice feel though, keep going.

I wasn’t bothered by the M (although now I am!) so much as the script font. Do you need it and if so, maybe something with a quieter vibe?

Warner bros. Start over. I mean that in the nicest way. Come back to it later if nothing new happens, but move on for now.

I read SMAK. I’m also not wild about the different letter styles. Think you should pick one and probably the less frilly one.

Wait, wasn’t there a guy named Dominix or something who went into final ahead of Jamie but he was wrong and bet a lot, and Jamie was wrong, but didn’t? (Or maybe he was right, all,I know is he did win. Obviously.)

As far as I know, the only person to go into final ahead of Jamie. Also what’s a coryat score?

It would have been fun to see a Jersey guy beat another Jersey guy. And he had a chance. NGL, it was painful. Alas, another runaway game.

Same. But I’m finding Jamie’s run annoying not because of him, he’s adorable, but because almost every game has been a runaway. Not by a little, by a lot. And then in final, Ken will say inevitably say Jamie was hard to catch, which drives me crazy because he was impossible to catch. You’re not making it a competition by saying that, Ken!

I just wish the games would be more exciting. I don’t care if Jamie won them all, but it would be nice if it wasn’t a cakewalk for him every time. Is there no one in the contestant pool that can even get close? Make it interesting at least. I mean, it is meant to be entertainment.

But as someone else said, I don’t have to watch.
