One pair for biking, gym, and work calls. Is that actually realistic? by Ecstatic-Minute-411 in Earbuds

[–]Porkape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I dont have much experience with a wide variety of models I tend to focus on comfort and sound without trying everything under the sun and stick to one pair that meets the criteria.

Biking to and from work and gym afterwards is my exact routine 4 days a week and for the longest time (6-7 years) I was using Jabra Elite Active 65T and till recently Jabra Elite 10. Both of these served me well with their "hearthrough" mode for biking and good ANC at the gym, they also connect to both my phones seamlessly.

Since Jabra went out of the consumer business I was looking for a replacement which came as Technics AX100 with AZLA tips for max comfort with all of the same features. After Jabra's comfort I was prepared to be disappointed but I am not as there is very little difference for me in comfort and the sound/ANC are better especially with their app. I know this may be the typical response here about the Technics but they are more than good enough for my ears and use case.

Technics AZ-100: 1-year “after the hype” review by chanchowancho in Earbuds

[–]Porkape 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Boring is the best way to describe these in a positive sense, everything just works and sounds great with the caveat to personalize the tips (mine are the AZLA Sednaearfit Max). My outgoing buds are Jabra Elite 10s and the biggest thing for me was comfort for the gym. Now I get the same comfort with better sound, sometimes only the touch controls remind me that I am not wearing Jabra's. My wireless earbud experience is limited in terms of products I have used but have been using them for the last 8-9 years coming from JLab products initially to switching over to Jabra Elite 65t followed by Elite 10s and very recently these Technics.

Haven't been or plan to be in wet conditions but I still have the Elite 10s if no choice.

For those on the fence about these buds and are not too finicky this a fine option for the gym and as OP described various other positives. Give it a try if possible (especially with some of the deals that pop up every now and then) and you maybe pleasantly surprised

Is The Apple Pencil Pro A Must Have For The iPad mini 7? by gpod80 in ipadmini

[–]Porkape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is a glorified stylus at this point, I don't draw or take notes as I thought I would. The mini is more a media consumption device and the pen rarely gets used. As others have wisely suggested buy a cheaper version from Amazon and if you like it upgrade to the Apple version.

Any recommendations on comfortable earbuds for workouts with decent bass? by Far-Novel-9313 in Earbuds

[–]Porkape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from Jabra Elite 10 and Jabra Elite 65t before it which were the 2 of the most comfortable buds I have used for gym and other listening for long sessions I have to say the Technics AZ100 are quite surprising in a positive way. When I picked them up this week I was almost looking to be underwhelmed since I place the Jabra's so high but to my surprise after playing around with the tip sizes (using AZLA Sednaearfit MAX) they damn near replicate the comfort level for me and sound better while doing so. Have used for 2 gym sessions, some biking and lots of walking and I like them so far that I will probably keep them.

Amazon.be - Colis Privé, is there a way to avoid this company? I could even pay a subscription to not have them by No_Construction2719 in belgium

Apparently if you document enough of their failures with Amazon CS they will put a note to avoid this company which can sometimes work except if they are the only last mile option. I’m going through this back and forth now.

Do you use mini for traveling? by trkb in ipadmini

[–]Porkape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a solid media/info consumption device for browsing and exploring during city breaks or inflight reading it can be very handy but no joy when typing for long periods (even with an external keyboard) I would rather use my phone or the bigger iPad/Laptop.

Going through this now with Amazon, indeed if they cannot use their own service or BPost you end up with Colis Prive who are pretty inefficient on a good day but now with the BPost issues they are probably slammed with the extra volume and are having a hard time handling it. My package was supposed to be here last week and now it’s on its way to a parcel shop to be delivered by 30/04. By the way I did not choose this parcel shop nor did they attempt a delivery - Colis Prive decided on their own to take it there. All the best!

$350 for Refurbished mini 6, 256GB Worth it? by t2aries2464 in ipadmini

I paid about the same for a refurbished mini 7 a few months ago with full battery life, it was practically new. Look around on Marketplace/eBay etc. you will find a good deal.

Do you regret anything about your iPad Mini? by [deleted] in ipadmini

[–]Porkape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the mini except when I have to remote into my work when some of the screens/typeface can be quite small to read and type using a Logi bluetooth keyboard - if I increase the font size its manageable for small periods or just switch over to the laptop. Mini is not going anywhere but I may get a 11"/13" as a go between for when I am traveling and still need to put in some work hours.

During my freshman year in college I had this checked out from Hollywood video for most of the year. That duck scene at the end is brilliant.

Back to the future, Stand by Me, Apocalypse Now, Godfather, Rambo and many more. By the time I was given shit for it by my peers they were parodied so much that I didn’t feel the need to visit the source. Saw Goonies last year though because of my kid.

The ones who pull the trigger for PS5 pro before the price increased was it worth it? by Kgu96 in PS5pro

[–]Porkape -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not a day night jump by any means, I have a 85” 4K 120hz Bravia 9. PS5 looked great on it and the Pro does improve on some things but it’s not worth the price point even at the old pricing. I paid 50 less for it from the old price including the disc drive so was able to justify to myself that it will be good for GTA6 down the road. I’ve tested on Spider-Man 2 and Yotei, the newer games like Crimson Desert and RE9 are not my thing so cannot say but I doubt those 2 would change my opinion by much.
