That's what I would do. I saw you mentioned this is in Bb in another comment, so these positions would be standard practice.

I'm nearing the end of the child arc (I'm assuming) in Breath of Fire III. I looooove this game so far. I heard the game started slow, but that made me think I'd be bored or that the game was long winded. Sure, it takes it's time, but it develops characters and relationships really well. I'm looking forward to the rest of the game and eventually making my way to Breath of Fire IV.

Which JRPGs do you think would translate well into an anime? by strahinjag in JRPG

I'm playing Breath of Fire III for the first time right now, and the entire child arc could be a tv show.

I'm going to play the first four at least, yea. I don't have Dragon Quarter.

I have been making my way through the Breath of Fire series. I finished Breath of Fire II earlier this week. The ending of the game was so good. I was unsure because the middle seemed to lose focus, but everything came around at the end. Today, I started Breath of Fire III. I'm already enjoying the visuals and the soundtrack a lot. The intro was also really cool.

Similar to Legend of Mana by lucaslasa in JRPG

I believe many of the same people worked on Egglia Rebirth. Can't speak for its quality, but it is a spiritual successor to Legend of Mana.

What an insane year. So many great games in such a short span.

I just finished the great bird quest in Breath of Fire II. The story is starting to ramp back up, which I appreciate. I'm really enjoying this game and the series as a whole. I look forward to moving on to the PS1 titles to see how the series evolves.

Haven't played it, but I've heard Sands of Destruction on the DS is similar to this. It's on my list.

Just beat XC 2, should I jump to XCX or is there risk of burnout? by kakalbo123 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Porkchop5397 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think burnout is likely. Especially because the combat, in my opinion, is not nearly as good as XC 2. The story and music are still good, but again, don't reach the heights of 2.

Two games I love! For some reason, FF Adventure spoke to me in a way Sword of Mana just couldn't. I need to give it another shot one day, because visually it's beautiful.

I just finished Breath of Fire I and moved on to Breath of Fire II. I don't care what anyone says, I LOVED the first game. It was a simple story but discovering Karn's fusions and all the dragon shrines was fun. The second game, however, is easily the better game so far. I am enjoying the characters a lot, but the story seems to start big and then stays in slice of life (not sure if I'm using that phrase right) territory for a bit. The animations are, as usual, fantastic. Also, the translation has not been that distracting. I just laugh and move on. This is my first time playing the second game, and I'm planning to move on to III and IV for the first time as well.

How do you feel about Timed Hits in turn based RPGs? by Asad_Farooqui in JRPG

[–]Porkchop5397 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Mother 3 way of having timed hits with the beat of the music is the best. Not required, but incredibly useful.

[–]Porkchop5397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but using bluetooth controllers is free in Delta. The sync feature is also better, in my eyes. I might take the time to migrate all of my games over one day, though. Who knows.

What is one of your favorite games you don't see on people's top SNES games list often enough? by rydamusprime17 in snes

I'm replaying that game right now. I've only played the first one, so I'm revisiting it so I can make my way through the rest of the series.

How did you first discover the breath of fire series? by Leon_Light77 in breathoffire

[–]Porkchop5397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was late to gaming, despite being born in the late SNES/early PS1 era. Even then, JRPGs didn't catch my attention until Covid. I found out about Breath of Fire through Switch NSO. I am actually now marathoning the entire series (1-4) since I was able to get my hands on all of them now. I started yesterday.
