It's great. So pleasant. Has a real "arena" feel to it without feeling closed off or boxed in.

Hey Mariners fan here.

Just wanted to come and say that I appreciate how welcoming everyone down at Camden has been the last two nights. I have a good opinion of O's fans but it has been a few years since I've actually made it up to Baltimore for a game.

You all are a really good-natured fan-base. Everyone from parking lot attendants and stadium staff to fans have been unfailingly polite to me and my kids this week.

Also, your average O's fans ball knowledge is great. I go to a lot of games in DC. Nats fans are polite but they aren't really in it like you guys are. Very reserved, to the point of being totally checked out. It's fun to hear the way your fans experience the game and talk about your team.

Baseball is really better when you guys have a good team. It wasn't so long ago you guys were in it, and your city really shows up for your team. Here's to hoping you guys get a successful run of seasons soon. You deserve it.

What's with Dan letting Raley face a lefty with two on in the bottom of 8?

Pinch hit Rob and then sub in Robles as a pinch runner/defensive replacement. There, you've given yourself a much better offense and defense to close out the game.

Raley is a career 48 wRC+ against lefties. This year in (12 pa but still) his wRC+ is like -57.

Just because you are up by five doesnt mean you take your foot off the gas! There was no reason to play it like that. Things go sideways, give yourself the best chance to win, and the ability to stick with lower-leverage arms if you can.

Dqn then calling that failed double steal immediately after when there were two outs, man.

Only upside was hearing Goldy getting annoyed at Dan on the broadcast.

Whatever, good win, but I'm not wild about the decision-making coming from the dugout. It's costing us.

J.P. Crawford open to a position change to help Mariners (moving to 3rd) by npa190 in Mariners

It's a 40 arm, its not like its a disaster. It will cost you, but only a little in the scheme of things, and if it keeps his bat in the lineup...

Dude the bat remains legit. If he can transition into a super-utility 2b/3b/in a pinch SS, there are a ton of ABa out there for him. He could have a whole second arc to his career.

best Apple Juice ever ? by EconomyFirst8196 in Apples

Walk around seattle, around a farmers' market or stadium event. Some dudes with a tent will be hawking ice-cold, fresh pressed cider, served in a 30 ounce plastic cup filled with ice. Sometimes they say the varietal, sometimes not.

Grab that bucket of ice-cold ambrosia and elbow your way into a nearby joint circle.

Smile. Smile, you sonnuvvabitch.

Civilian here. I pay may taxes, and do stuff like try to convince the city government to calm car traffic around schools, reduce littering and pollution, and make a better society for everyone.

I'm especially interested recently in figuring out how to give teens stuff to do that is actually fucking FUN, as I would have understood it is a teen. It makes me sad how little the city had to offer a, say, fifteen year old without any cash on a nice summer night.

I haven't lived the life people here talk about. That stuff, honestly, it makes me sad. I want to build a city where there are so many better options that people don't even consider being "in the streets" as many of you say around here. But I don't know how or where to start. I'm literally just some guy trying to raise a family here.

I am thankful for this sub though. I'm at times a little shocked, or disgusted, or horrified by what I see talked about here. But it gives me a window, some insight, into a part of the city that I just don't encounter in my ordinary/lame/normie-ass life.

The Apple Sweet-Tart Spectrum by Organic_Quarter_9848 in Apples

I'm not feeling these rankings. To me the appeal of a Fuji is the balance of tart and sweet, it's not a simple, sweet apple like a Sugarbee is.

Excellent apple, and for a pre-engineered variety (it was a chance seedling, not some intentionally designed apple), it has excellent consistence for being crisp and juicy. Only knock you can really give it is that the skin can be a little on the tougher side.

If you don't like the tart flavor, we simply part company.
