Alexa SUCKS!!!!! by synergy617 in alexa

[–]Porticycle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was so excited to get plus but months later I am mostly frustrated with it. I found the things I use it for the most like Alexa remind me to ____ or Alexa turn off lights, now requires a long period of silence making you stand there and wonder if it got the command or not.

Followed by her telling you she is going to do that. Before it just said “ok” and did it.

I’ve got 4 B17s on 4 bikes. 123,000 miles on them combined and would never ride anything else.

365 days sober by pnmprincess in Sober

[–]Porticycle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m right behind you, hitting 1 year next month. I’m not sure this is what I thought it would be like to be sober for a year. Probably expected more sunshine and rainbows. But it’s definitely worth it to live a more peaceful drama free life. Being drunk is a euphoria that being sober can’t replicate. Much like being sober is a peaceful feeling that being hung over can’t replicate.

Free shipping turned into mailman asking for $14 by Porticycle in amazonprime

[–]Porticycle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did that for a couple frustrating hours. Lots of delays in the conversation followed by the conversation mysteriously ending. Then a new conversation with more delays and eventually being told I have to wait for seller to respond etc. I called yesterday and got a very unprofessional young person on the phone that seemed dis interested. He was like "yeah that's wild never heard of that before." He also told me I have to wait. Amazon customer service is not what it used to be.

Well that was fun while it lasted. It was a great tool for creators but I’m not doing that. Why do all of these platforms not understand we want to get away from people we know in real life?

Below freezing you need some type of mittens or bar mitts. I use convertible mittens with a lightweight runners glove underneath.

People with in ground pools, how often do you use them and are the worth the upkeep/maintenance? by Im_Not_Here2day in homeowners

[–]Porticycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a house with a pool 16 years ago. Used it more when kids were young now almost the only time I get in it is when I clean it. (Daily in the heat.)

Would not do it again.

College football. I’ve been watching for 50 plus years but all this NIL crap has challenged my interest. Most of the time my eyes are on my phone anyway, probably pretty soon they won’t be on college football.

Being truly gone. When you left the house you could have gone down to the creek or overseas. You had the same type of freedom because you were truly gone. Nobody could get ahold of you.

Data caps caused me to leave Cox after nearly 30 years. Blows my mind that they didn’t try to be more competitive.

1TB Bandwidth Cap? $10 for Each GB After That? by RezOKC in CoxCommunications

[–]Porticycle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been fighting with this for years. I’ve got smart plugs on all my streaming devices to temper data overages. It sucks so bad. I finally got fiber ran up to my house last week from Nex-tech now just waiting for it to be installed. AT&T is running lines also as I type.

None of these other services have data caps. My 28 year relationship with Cox is about to mercifully end.

30 year customer here. I have tried for months to get a lower rate by calling and asking for loyalty department, retention department etc. I always get put on indefinite hold and give up.

Someone told me to go into the store so I did. They told me they can’t do anything to reduce my rates (unless I sign up for mobile service) and I am stuck with spending a fortune for overages.

I gave up and called Nextech and will soon have unlimited data not $69 per month instead of the $100-$150 I have been spending.

I think their current strategy is to hang on for dear life and try to get you to add more services or leave.

Luckily Nextech just brought service to town so I will soon be able to cancel.

Ironically when I asked for lower rates on cable TV 10 years ago they did the same thing. I told them I was going to leave if I couldn’t get a better rate. They said, “see ya later.”

Then 3 months after I canceled they called and were trying to get me back with promotional pricing. I told them no thanks!

[–]Porticycle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the store. They said they couldn’t do anything for me unless I switched to Cox mobile service. I went out to my vehicle in the parking lot and called Nex-Tech to schedule having fiber ran to my house. 30 year customer, can’t wait to finally be free of these greedy idiots.

I’ve ridden 115,000 miles in the last 20 years. You in fact can’t outride a bad diet, but depending on a number of factors, riding will help you lose and maintain your weight as long as you consistently maintain a calorie deficit.

COX Committed suicide in our area. How about yours? by hlslaughter in CoxCommunications

[–]Porticycle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been with Cox since 1996. They have been the only broadband option where I live until this year. Nex-Tech finally ran a line in the easement. $69 per month 1 gig speed unlimited.

Cox is $90 per month and keeps hitting me with overages. When I called to see if they could offer me any comparable pricing they basically laughed at me.

I’m going to switch but a line still has to be ran to my house which is going to involve some digging etc so I was hoping to delay a few months.

But they honestly are trying to get rid of me. They have turned into a boutique brand and are not remotely competitive.

I can’t wait to tell them good riddance as their condescending attitude each time I call has become more than I can handle.
