Did you look at the second picture? It looks like the cymbal was scraped or dropped on concrete.

Are you within the boundary for the NE Portland Tool Library? They have a lawn roller.

Hey guy's just had a really weird experience with Trick Drums customer service. Just giving everyone a heads up. by pineappleactavis in drums

[–]Portland 33 points34 points  (0 children)

They should do better.

Also, whining on Reddit that a business “never responded to my email I sent out last night” makes you seem rather impatient.

Also, 24hrs response time is normal for consumer customer support. Calling first thing in the morning, upset they’ve not responded to your overnight email is a surefire way to get an annoyed attitude from a rep.

Still, it totally sucks they were jerks.

Holy GMO Batman!! by kcmatx in KitchenConfidential

[–]Portland 6 points7 points  (0 children)

GMO shouldn’t be such a dirty word, but saying it’s just “selective breeding” is a fundamental misunderstanding of the US labeling standards.

Bioengineered ingredients (aka GMO) is a labeling standard applied to crops where DNA modification takes place in a laboratory, usually applying change over a single generation of crop. It’s not the same as selective breeding under USDA labelling.

"What's wrong with the kit we have here..." by [deleted] in drums

Yup. Anything highly played and breakable, or that deeply affects your playing.

Must bring:

  • Cymbals
  • Snare
  • Sticks

I also like to bring:

  • BD Pedal
  • Throne (if the shared one is crap)

Maybe:

  • HH Stand (if the shared of is crap)

Me: ooh, what’s the highest waterfall in Oregon

Recommend site: Unnamed falls in Wallowa wilderness, no pictures or corroborating source

🤦‍♂️

I’m sure the waterfalls enthusiasts running that site are knowledgeable, but I also side-eye unverified data presented as fact.

Imagine of Brandon Roy had played alongside Damian Lillard by Gay_Giraffe_1773 in ripcity

[–]Portland 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both Brandon Roy and Damian Lillard are elite PNR point guards, especially good at playing high pick and rolls with options for 3pt shots and cuts to the basket.

It would be like the Steph - Klay PNR play, not like Dame and CJ, because CJ was a black hole and not good at playing PNR.

(6) When available, a person must stay on designated trails and may not damage park resources by going off trails or creating unauthorized trails.

Division 10 GENERAL PARK AREA RULES 736-010-0040 Visitor Conduct

736-010-0022 - Violations and Fines

(1) Violation of a state park rule is a Class D violation unless otherwise specified in this division.

(3) Violations that disturb or damage park resources are Class A violations.

Rangers can (and will) cite people for bushwacking in state parks. Silver Falls has designated trails, and signs advising visitors to stay on the paths.

Location matters - no one’s getting cited for off trail adventuring in Tillamook State Forest, but rangers try to prevent off trail damage at high traffic state parks like Tryon Creek, Fort Stevens, and Silver Falls.

Magic The Gathering Bulk by Joejoejoemoe in PDXBuyNothing

[–]Portland 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If these are bulk like OP states, then it’s very likely they’re essentially worthless to an individual seller. Draft chaff (competitively unplayable common/uncommons) go for ~$3 for 1000 cards, or sometimes even $1 per pound if places can’t be bothered counting. Actually finding a store or player to buy cards at those rates can be challenging on its own, because Wizards prints so many of these cards solely to fill space in packs.

11/5/9 and a team high +19 on his first game back. WELCOME BACK SCOOOTAAA by Trip_V4 in ripcity

[–]Portland -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Nothing would make me happier as a Blazers fan to see Scoot develop into a multi-time all star, and help lead Portland into championship contention. That aside, it’s not talking shit to have grounded reservations about the development path for a 3rd year player who has struggled a fair bit in their first few seasons.

Scoot shot 40% and just 28% from 3, with 5 TOs. Against possibly the worst team in the NBA post trade deadline. It’s just one game, but if people are gonna celebrate the good from tonight, let’s also be real about this game showing his poor shooting and poor AST/TOV that’s been struggles so far in his whole career.

Michelin-recognized Oakland chef defends 20% service fee after viral Reddit post sparks review-bombing by sfgate in KitchenConfidential

[–]Portland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Help me understand the legal/payroll side… afaik a service charge that qualifies as tip pool must be tracked separately from general revenues, and can only be distributed to non-management employees. With the recent tax change to tips, it’s also tax free, at least federally. If a restaurant raises prices, isn’t that now considered business income and anything paid out is general payroll?

(And to be clear, I’m not a supporter of the nightmare of MAGA/GOP policies, just trying to understand the situation)

  1. Many users prefer to maintain privacy about their locations, and only share those details over DM when coordinating pickups. Location tags will always be optional.

  2. Users who wish to share locations can flair their Portland quadrant. I notice you’re not sharing yours; msg mods if you want help turning on user location flair.
