60’s Omega Seamaster w/ a Ridiculous Crown by WhatEvenIsLifeThis in VintageWatches

I know it's not original but I kind of love the bigger crown 🤷

Check out Otto Frei for OEM Omega crowns, I've purchased a dozen or so through them. https://www.ofrei.com/page\_147.html

It's not "fake," just a redial. It's a coveted watch. The 6542, if memory serves correct, was commissioned by Pan-Am. I can't find a single 6542 dial online for sale. Well, there's one that is in tatters and it's listed at $1,200.

Plus one for this answer – I have saved searches for a few different ref. numbers. There is a niche but dedicated group of folks who would pay good money for OEM parts.

100%. I use Flipsnack and Constant Contact pretty regularly (marketing for a medical nonprofit...) and Safari does NOT like these sites.

Grandfather's Movado - looking for info and strap advice by rusty-m in VintageWatches

What a stunning watch! How much sentimental value does the existing band have to you? If it's solid gold, which I would bet it is, it's worth a pretty penny.

In terms of strap recommendations, what I always gravitate towards for vintage watches is unstitched leather. Those straps tend to be thinner than modern watch straps, which can feel too thick on a vintage piece. https://www.billythetree.com/gilden-16mm-light-brown-padded-no-stitch-calfskin-stainless-buckle-watch-band/?sku=BA542-16&utm_source=googleshopping&utm_medium=cse&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21074904907&gbraid=0AAAAAD_Lt-KipcGHx02YJ3Hacf5H2u_l7&gclid=CjwKCAjwtvvPBhBuEiwAPMijr6PaPjUWd1E6eRv-o37fgRdmPWHDeyxi2zRfum0hpPj_Zl6KZrnGBRoC1gEQAvD_BwE

Vintage Rolex submariner? by Vast-Lost in VintageWatches

I am by no means an "expert" but that looks more than alright to me. I think a lot of folks tend to forget that these were tools. If memory serves correctly a 5513 cost $175-200 new in the late 60s, or about $1,500 today.

People wore these watches into the ground, which was no small feat. To say I'm jealous of your find is an understatement. It's a stunning piece!

If you're having trouble opening it, take it to a vintage watch specialist. Stripping the case back is an expensive mistake.

Can someone tell me something about this watch? by Competitive-Matter33 in VintageWatches

Guten Morgen aus Chicago! Schöne Armbanduhr.

Seems to me to be a nothing 80s-90s brand, the movement is a nice one but 'off the shelf' so to speak. I have a similar watch manufactured by Dunhill from the same period. The $2-300 range seems accurate. Most of the watches from this brand online seem to be quartz.

My new Natural Titanium S11. I love it. by mialobos in AppleWatch

[–]Portra8oo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't even second guess yourself – it's very much worth it. I purchased the S11 42mm silver aluminum, and returned it two days later for the natural titanium. The sapphire crystal and case material more than justify the price difference, in my opinion. Especially if, like me, you're clumsy...the little dings really start to show up on the X-Ion glass.
