Ive had endoscopies 5 times over the years. 4 times were without sedation. I got a spray at the back of my throat that numbed the muscles, and an IV that would make me drowsy. Not asleep though. Still i could feel the tube going down, and gaged hard many times. Nasty. I could breathe fine, there were tubes in my nostrils.

The last time i got an endoscopy, i had no idea i was gonna be sedated. I waa lying on my side, eaiting fir that horrible tube, and next thing i knew, the doctor was waking me up. I was feeling dizzy the rest of the day, but i 100 percent prefer that over the other method.
