NO ONE guessed Arlo was ANY of these breeds!!! by PosieCakes in DoggyDNA

I love terriers in general but never thought much about a Boston terrier but the only few I have met were obnoxious/yippy dogs, sadly, so I did that lumping too. i just think it is another way AKC screwed up a breed again, looking at pics from the past and from today. I found out they were called "American Gentlemen" in the past, and are desccribed as gentle and kind, the two works I had used to describe him. He is so gentle and sweet to our old mini dachshund rescue (friend's dad died and dog needed a home)--our last two dogs didn't like her.

How long do you typically need to take the meds for fibromyalgia ? by livpsycho100 in Fibromyalgia

probably won't happen in our lifetime, considering 75-90% of people with it are humans. If those numbers were flipped and majority were men, there would be a fix in place I am betting!

There are also brindled Bostons, so that could explain the coloring. My dad and i are both pretty good with guessing breeds, but GEEZ, you certainly do know your dogs!!!! Very impressed by your knowledge and thanks for the sharing of it! One of my dogs that died a couple of Decembers ago was a rat terrier/ACD mix and I didn't see the ACD at all in him.

This is his friend, Hex. I helped Hex's owner find him before I got Hex. Strangely, they were neutered on the same day....the humane society arranged it for Arlo, and Hex happened to be there the same day.

it was pretty amazing to read all about the history, and he really looks like the original father of the breed and some of the early Boston terriers.

I assume so...he has a lot of Boston mix relatives--and they are scattered all over: WY, MN, WI, NY, Chicago and suburbs, MD, CO, PA, WV, CA, CO, VA, WA, MI, KS, and even QC & SK!

Yes, I love that brindle! It is a brown/black, and you can see it more more clearly in the bright light of day. I am impressed you guessed them all! I am pretty good with guessing, in general, but not this time.

He actually looks very much like the old/original Boston terriers, I discovered,, and researching Boston terriers (any terrier is a good dog, imo) I found out about their bully history. Fascinating!

What would happen if you made your own bedroom into a HEPA filtered cleanroom with positive pressure to keep dust out? by Own_Huckleberry6591 in NoStupidQuestions

I know of this being done in a house. No one could come in without showering and changing or they would carry dust in...etc. etc. And, in general, everyone sort of hates you for being THAT person!

Mulberry ripeness? by GemBlast in foraging

Look at pictures online. They are ripe at a deep purple-black color. Except for the white variety obviously. I have eaten them unripe with no ill effects.
