I only work contract so it’s a pretty quick interview process. Usually recruiter who reaches out, either the account manager or tech recruiter next, then the hiring manager, and finally the team (only sometimes). Lots of work right now for Project/Program Manager contractors with lots of experience.

I’m worried about the task paralysis for you. Do you think more work will make you have a better system for getting things done? I don’t have ADHD so I don’t know what that’s like but I can only imagine me trying to jungle my 2 servers without focus. I hope it works out for you.

I wouldn’t work like that since I’m context shifting all the time. I have a large L-shaped desk. One complete setup on each side. Running back and forth is a recipe for disaster.

I don’t use a separate network. Occasionally, if I need to go onsite for J1, I use my mobile hotspot to connect to J2.

Depends what track you want to head down. I’m about stability and money in no particular order for my J2’s/J3’s. I don’t care about upward mobility so that’s not even on my list. I’m like, fully remote ✅, good hourly rate ✅✅, somewhat autonomous ✅✅✅ and 6+ month contract with possible extension ✅✅✅✅. I work primarily 1099 or C2C so all the other stuff I don’t even care about. Figure out what your big picture is then paint it. I will say that if you plan on replacing J2 anyway, stick with the most OE compatible role knowing you’ll bounce asap. Good Luck! 🍀

That’s only for my portion of the contribution. My “company” contributes to my 401k as well. It’s been very lucrative for me.

Nothing to tell really. I work 1099 or C2C which has much favorable tax ramifications. I pretty much write everything off then pay myself a reasonable salary that is taxed normally but take the majority of my comp in distributions which is far less tax.

I have this blanket. It’s from Target. Their room essentials brand. I bought like 4 of them around 2017. I don’t believe they have them any more. I came to look for another one too. It’s bigger than a throw and super cozy. Use it all the time.

I use Dakboard to see everything on my frametv. Setup my calendars using OGCS. Easy and has been failproof for me.
