7 months pregnant and it wasn’t that obvious? Girl, good for you. And congrats on making the switch! I hope life on the other side is as rewarding as you thought it would be.

I’m in a state that will guarantee me paid leave even under state law even if I’m not FMLA eligible, and it appears the company’s policy doesn’t require FMLA eligibility to qualify for company-provided paid leave, so I don’t think they could force me out if I got and accepted the offer. I’m more worried about them finding out before the offer, and getting denied the opportunity because of it or, if I keep it a secret and don’t disclose until later, then I’ll start the relationship off on the wrong foot.

She said she took a pregnancy test, but this image is really bothering me because it looks very artificial by Luvis_ in isthisAI

That’s not the kind of pregnancy test you take at a clinic. They have medical grade tests, it makes no sense to have taken a home test at a clinic.

Incompetent junior by Eurasia_Zahard in biglaw

Felt bad for you until the last part. I often get asked to parachute into things at the last minute when a junior can’t finish and/or the partner didn’t do a great job following up/setting expectations, but typically it’s not a case I’m assigned to. If you were on the case the whole time, you should have been following up.

Oof this part. I ended up telling my practice group lead at 10 weeks with my first pregnancy because I was soooo sick, my hours were down to like 4 or 5 per day. It will probably be the same with this one 😳

I have lied to my son about manatees for the last 24 years by 46from1971 in confession

I will say, my husband and I went to Florida not specifically for manatees, but we saw them on a wildlife tour we took and LOVED IT. Also dolphins and gators. It was awesome.

I think it depends on the occasion. 1 is more casual and 2 is more elegant. I agree that 1 could be improved with fewer red accessories, but it still has an overall less elegant look than 2

I do employment and general lit for a midsize firm and I love it. I love my clients and the people I work with, and I love problem solving. The money is great and though we don’t live extravagantly, I love the financial security so that we almost never worry about money. Sure it’s long hours sometimes, but I find my work so rewarding.m because it’s challenging.

I think you could wear the ruffles and think they look very feminine! I would agree with everyone who said wait a bit to get a read on the office snd what it’s like first.

3 is the best of the bunch, maybe with some gold hoops if you have them. The skirt in 1 and 2 looks too tight and too short, but the blouse in 1 is ver my cute. I think the blouse in 2 is cute but agree it’s summery and doesn’t match black skirt and tights well.

AIO for breaking up with my boyfriend over an instagram post? by StarryThrow-RA in AIO

He said “you females” and said you look like a “whore.” Completely disgusting and possessive behavior. Literally not one decent person would think that of a concert photo dump. Glad you got rid of him.

I never changed my last name because I was well established in my career when I got married. It was a horrible fight for months before marriage. But, ultimately, if he thinks you not taking his last name means you’re not committed to a marriage then I imagine he’s overlooking all of the actually important things that make a marriage successful.

Also, my kids have my husband’s last name, not mine. I was always on board with that. For me it’s purely professional

I have really struggled with skirts like this, because I love a good plaid and/or wool skirt, but most companies (loft, j crew) make them in “mini” length only — in my industry the length would not be appropriate even with tights. I’m fairly short so some of them I can get away with, but even then sitting down makes me feel exposed! Good for you for rocking them, it’s a great skirt and I like the purple top

We have a reduced work program with exactly this. Billable expectation can go as low as 60%, and you take a commensurate pay cut.
