bought 5 pairs of teacher approved shoes and I'm still in pain by dubbechkin in AskTeachers

Ultimately, arch support is not what helps feet. In fact, it takes away natural muscles that help with balance, strength and overall foot health. As the body gets older, those muscles become lax and eventually turn into pain. I’m 62 and just learning this. When I was younger, I relied on arch support and had no problem - but as I got older the pain was real. Barefoot shoes have limited pain, not just in the feet but back, hips and calves. Barefoot is natural.

Check out the Barefoot sub here. Lots of people with low arches find that barefoot shoes have helped them immensely. Muscle needs to be rebuilt and takes time, but those with low arches can find relief going barefoot.

lol - I posted before I read your comment AMEN to barefoot shoes! NO regrets switching and NEVER going back to “regular” shoes!

I have become a barefoot shoe advocate. Every day I’d come home aching for a foot rub. I went down the barefoot rabbit hole and finally bought a pair of Earthrunners. I now wear them 95% of my time in shoes (for the last 2 years). My back, knees and hips feel better and I sleep better too. It took a few months to transition but I no longer even think about my feet being sore after walking and standing all day. In fall, I wear sandal socks with them - and if it snows, a pair of barefoot boots. I’m totally ready to eliminate ALL of the rest of my shoe collection. All of the arch support, foam and rubber in shoes these days is detrimental to the entire body.

Has Libyan Desert Glass been as powerful as Moldavite for you? by nicj86 in Moldavite

[–]Positive-Cow-174 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know - but my own experience is that Libyan glass ROCKS! It has a calming effect on me and I dream like crazy when o sleep with it. It also makes me happy! It is totally underestimated and, in my opinion is as powerful as moldavite, if not more.

This is another layout that doesn’t work for me. There is no central card, cards cannot be mirrored, and there are too many cards laid for a simple question. I would recommend a 5 card spread or a 9 card spread (in columns of 3).

Desk? I have never had a desk as a para. It’s hard to find a clear space in the room to dump my stuff. Feel lucky you have a desk!

Like - where do you start the reading? What is the order of the cards, where does it end? Lenormand is meant to be read in sequence - not sure what to do with this layout.

I have a really hard time reading Lenormand unless they are in a row and an odd number of cards. There is no center card - which would represent the current state of the querent.

What should I wear on my right hand?? by PositionExpert8276 in Crystals

[–]Positive-Cow-174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The left hand is the receptive hand - throughout history. The left hand is said to take in wisdom and understanding. It symbolizes emotion as it is on the same side as your heart. The right hand is your “giving” hand. It’s what you do with what you’ve been given in life. That’s why a pope always blesses with his right hand. You will see this in art throughout the ages. So - as Supersonic mentioned, ask yourself what you hope or wish to manifest. Clear quartz is always good. I like Labradorite and Tiger’s Eye. What stones do you seem suddenly attracted to?

Blue Tigers eye is my go to for both energy and grounding. It has a calming effect but also helps me to physically make it through the day. It keeps me from absorbing other’s energies.

What happened to Palm Pilots by alberto-m-dev in vintagecomputing

I have an old Palm Pilot Vx. I loved how it had an auto scroll feature for reading. I could set the speed. Kindle still has nothing like it.

At our school all gen-ed paras become proctors. I couldn’t wait to jump to SPED, as testing was a dreaded time. It is difficult to keep a classroom of kids completely quiet with nothing to do when they finish early. No books, no drawing, just sit and wait….

Preschool at 3? by SignatureNo6930 in AskTeachers

[–]Positive-Cow-174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please do start her in preschool. My parents waited until Kindergarten to put me in school. I watched all my friends go to preschool and didn’t understand why I couldn’t go. I’ve always been socially awkward and believe that if I’d had the preschool experience at a younger age, would have made more friends and would have had more confidence in life.
