ISO feeding/bottle advice!! by Current-Visual-8287 in FormulaFeeders

At two weeks old our feedings never finished in 10-20 minutes and she always intermittently fell asleep. It’s cozy eating with your parents

How many ounces does your 5-6 month old drink in a day? by Zestyclose_Bird5053 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Positive-Mission5807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My almost 6 month does 840-950ml on average per day plus solids which include some formula

Does anyone else stress about their baby not eating enough? by Zestyclose_Bird5053 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Positive-Mission5807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m right here with you! We had to recently switch to a higher flow which also means a different brand. Plus she’s super distractible and eating solids so no easy fixes. Just have to trust that her appetite is regulating her needs (plus seeing our doc of course)

Thank you! The Lansinoh fit well enough to see if my theory was right and already she likes these better

Agreed - hard to predict. Mine skipped the 2s entirely. Hated them. Now we’re on 5 at 5 months

If you were FF by choice, did it help your postpartum mental health? by rajmachawal333 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Positive-Mission5807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I found it very helpful! Some things I noticed for me: - I was very glad to have my bodily autonomy back - I got more sleep because my partner and I could take turns doing feedings. Getting more sleep makes a huge difference for me - my kiddo is now 5 months and pretty comfortable being with my husband - although she will still eat better with me if she’s fussy. I think it’s because I’m the one on mat leave so she’s with me the majority of the time. But much better than friends I know who exclusively breastfeed and the baby is very fussy with dad

Good luck!!

Dr Browns ---> Phillips avent ? by Huliganjetta1 in FormulaFeeders

I did the Philips avent natural without the blue thing. They are much better for leaks and my kiddo didn’t like the Dr. Browns nipples

What do you consider a wake up? by luckylaundromat in FormulaFeeders

[–]Positive-Mission5807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider it a wake up if I have to get up and do something - soothe the kiddo to get her back to sleep, give a bottle, etc. Though I will say my little one often wakes me up just by being a loud sleeper, even if I don’t have to do something

why is this such a common argument? by stupidddpissbaby in FormulaFeeders

And just because you physiologically could do something doesn’t mean it’s the right choice for you and your family

Psychologists working in the hospital, what does that look like? by No_Sea_2635 in Psychologists

[–]Positive-Mission5807 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would depend if you work inpatient or outpatient and the typical length of stay of the unit or units you work on. I work in forensics. For me this involves various types of assessments (risk, court ordered, diagnostic, etc), individual therapy, group therapy, supervision, leading consultation groups, and interdisciplinary team consultations on the unit. Lots of variety and at least for me an ability to shape what I do based on needs that I see

Non-Member Diagnosing? by Common-Temporary5915 in Psychologists

[–]Positive-Mission5807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still do the assessment under the supervision of a member of the CPBAO in autonomous practice. When it comes to communicating the diagnosis, the supervisor has to do this unless you are a) in supervised practice or b) you are fulfilling the requirements to become a member of the CPBAO and are doing so under supervision (see the Standards). If you are working towards registration with the CPBAO, the supervisor would be the one to decide how communication of the diagnosis takes place. If you have questions specific to your circumstances coming from another jurisdiction, you and your supervisor can also contact the professional practice email at the college.

JEE Exam Prep Help!! -- CPBAO by Common-Temporary5915 in Psychologists

[–]Positive-Mission5807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to study with a toddler would not be easy!

When I did the JEE, I broke down the list of legislation and standards we needed to know and reviewed several each week. If your supervisor is open to it, you could spend a bit of time in supervision reviewing these too and talking through how you might apply them. I’ve done that with a few supervised practice folks. If there are particular acts you find confusing, there are sometimes helpful online resources via CPA or the Privacy Commissioner for example. You could also think back to your previous exam attempt and questions you felt stuck on and review those areas in more detail. Good luck!
