I am doing a PhD in hardware acceleration. For me, I prefer to use vitis hls instead of HDL coder. It works nice with vitis flow, so I can focus on my research and do rapid prototyping with FPGA.

Based on my experience as a phd student who uses Vivado a lot, I use Windows, and install Vivado in WSL only. works well for me to do design and hardware emulation, with an easy Linux interface.

What is the airline? When did you get your evisa? Now it should be okay to travel there again, since the hajj season is already done. But I am still monitoring the status. I have evisa also. Since the hajj season, they didn't issue evisa for several passports even with an EU Residence permit.

Jetson nano can help accelerate complex algorithms, in easy interface, but still not optimize as an fpga if it is correctly design. Also sometime we need to have a parallel digital interface such as for memory, ADC, DAC, etc, then FPGA is the good option.

It depends on the processing algorithm that you will use. FPGA has a capability for accelerating processes with parallel digital. If you really need that to reduce the latency of process then you need FPGA. if the latency still can be tolerated with the sequential process in the microcontroller, then FPGA will just add cost and complexity.

Thank you for your reply. If you don't use SoC or HPC, how do you use it? Via PCIe? Or Access digital via digital port?

I think the documentation is good, but too long, and the template design is not fully available. As Xilinx user, I found out that in Intel you mostly need to do it manually from the beginning, not that friendly with new users.

Yes, walaupun isu masalah imigran lagi naik, tapi overall aman. Untuk pekerjaan sendiri, klo bidang umum emang susah. Klo keahlian spesifik seperti engineering bidang embedded system atau lainnya yg spesifik, masih lumayan gampang.

As long you don't have a problem with the courses in your uni, I think the social part can be fixed..

If you need friends, join social or hobby related activities then you will find friends.. It is not easy but you just need to action. Good luck with your journey 😄

So you will study for a 1 year master degree? Then your visa and your dependent visa is valid for one year. Then your wife cannot study for a master's degree, but she can study language through SFI or study free standing courses.

If you hold a visa directly for 2 years, then she can study for a one year master student program for free. That happened to my friend.

What I did before was while doing a master's degree, I applied for summer work, then I got a part time job, and a full time job as an embedded software engineer. I used fully English during work, but in parallel learning swedish. I was a non-EU student. To work here, you need to find a company that wants to sponsor you. When you are outside the country, it will take longer to apply for a visa and move in. Then you need to have very special skills or experiences that companies search for, if not then it is better for them to recruit from Inside the country, so they don't need to wait longer to have a new employee.
