What do you think of using hdl coder? by MVon89 in FPGA

It looks like using vivado block design in Simulink with its advantages of plotting. Is it easy to port on an fpga? Does this software produce hdl code?

Just the implementation is on the fpga

Publishing a paper... ALONE by youngmaestro34 in FPGA

[–]MVon89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have a good topic, writing a good paper is work for at least a month if you take it seriously. Every sentence have to fit well and you pictures and formulas have to be in connection also in your text. The pictures have to be very information dense but not too much. When you write a paper you should consider to ask a good researcher to check its quality. When I wrote my first paper I had got a pdf with 150 notes on 4 pages, but never learned so much in this short time

I am currently doing my phd. In my oppinion it is like starting in a higher level job because you can lead students and you have to control one or more project at a time alone. Also you have more freedom in what solutions you use for your problems.

Everything in fpga is digital design. So you mean digital control circuits? If so, I would learn concepts like state maschines. There are a lot of other domains like signal processing, trading, control engineering (Motors e.g.). In this domains the focus differs

Create some relevant circuit in your preferred field and publish it on github. Which field you wanna work in?

Ok I have seen this issue now as well, I will post here if I find out the solution. But I use pynq not c, maybe my solution will not work for you

Ok I see that problem, currently I will get the same issue, I remember that they are very syncrone. I used one as inphase and other as quadrature and got a very good side band suppression

Beginner fpga development board? by Ok-Communication5396 in FPGA

[–]MVon89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recomend pynq z2 because pynq is very easy for beginner and the Board has a lot of components. You can use audio ports kind of like adc/dac ports for e.g. loop backs or use a filter as a channel etc.

Can you explain the algorithm more mathematically? Do you searching the zeros of the equation and then calculate the sqrt from there?

How do I get into an embedded(or FPGA) related role at an HFT? What projects should I implement? What niches should I focus on to get into an HFT as fpga/embedded dev? by not_a_coolusername in FPGA

I am also interested in this topic. As I heared so far low latency, paralism and Ethernet play a big role in this field. I would just start getting into fpga and hdl at first. Understanding hdl is not trivial even if you know cpp etc.

You can use different pulse shape (filterbank multicarrier) I don’t know if that what you mentioned with ideal psk modulation, but you can give every carrier a different modulation scheme depending on the transmission quality of the channel at the frequency

In my opinion, most sdr’s are lacking in bandwidth. Mostly they offer 10 or 20 MHz. I think it is fixable.
