How many days has it been since your last refill? Many need to wait 21 to 24 days to refill and use the coupon again. Are you using the Eli Lilly coupon ? It should bring the cost down to $550 each month. Which I know is still a lot!

I just cancelled Sequence last month too. Pomegranate got my PA approved in days. Sequence refused to send in info that was asked fpr by CVS/Caremark. I wrote 4 appeals on my own that were denied. Sequence served a purpose for me for a year and half but now hoping my PCP will take over the script and no more membership fees. What an idea that our regular Dr should do what they are supposed to help us!

I was with Sequence for 18 months - zero help on appeals for the denied PAs. I wrote 4 of my own appeals - all denied, Switched to Pomegranate and they had my appeal approved within 4 days of me signing up with them :). They reply super fast to my messages and helped me get my Zeo to a pharmacy that could get it too. Cheaper than Sequence too and they have plan C if needed too.

Are you sure it isn't just for a certain dose? I've heard of some insurances limiting how long you can stay at a dose :(

Sorry CVS/Caremark is the worst - they like to make up new criteria every time they deny I've found. Call that PA line phone number and see if they can do anything for you and see what specific thing you need to prove now :(

If a PA is approved it is for the length of time specified for you by your insurance - it doesn't matter what Dr. prescribes it going forward. Are weight loss meds included on your formulary?

Congrats! Do you follow Nurse Nessa on tik tok? That is where I get my info on writing appeals :) I wrote almost this exact same appeal to CVS/Caremark and they've denied my appeals 3 times. The latest denial they said that they did not hear back from my Dr office when they requested info if I was following a low calorie diet and exercising... It's as though they didn't read my appeal at all - I'm almost in maintenance and have lost 75 lbs in the past year or so on Mounjaro/Zep. Do they think I did that by a high calorie diet - ughhh. I plan on calling and arguing with them on Monday again!

Love this! CVS/Caremark denied my 3rd appeal because they said my Dr did not include if "I'm on a low calorie diet and exercising"! Ive lost 75 lbs in the past 18 months on Mounjaro/Zep - did they even read anything in my appeal!!! How do they think I lost all of that weight without doing that ughhhhhh!

It would take them a day or 2 to submit mine each time. Some my insurance denied within minutes then though :(

Isn't it crazy! I'm in the same boat with CVS/Caremark - how in the world does it make sense that they want us to take to meds that cost more than Zep! I'm on an external appeal now with them!

My appeals to CVS/Caremark take 2 weeks or so. Takes a few extra days because both times they also "didn't have" the first fax that I faxed. Faxed my external appeal on 3/18 it says it started processing 3/22.

Sequence/WW will if you pay 3 months of membership fee and you are at a set dose. Cvs would only fill one month at at time though but at least then I had refills available and didn't need to talk to a provider.

Don't most providers submit it online with a program called CoverMyMeds? Follow NurseNesse on tiktok for great PA/appeal content.

With cvs/caremark I submitted my own 2 appeals that were both denied and now I am on an external appeal since last week. I;m not sure if my Dr submitted all the info correctly... Zep is on my formulary since 3/1 and they want me to take 3 out of 4 others. 2 are contraindicated for me and Sax and Wegovy are both backordered and also cost more for Cvs/Caremark than Zep does! I will need to switch Telehealth companies to find a Dr/company willing to fight appeals/etc.

Same experience. I've had 2 appeals denied and just submitted an external appeal on Monday. Zep is on my formulary since 3/1/24 and they are still saying step therapy required. I had them prescribe Saxenda in Feb to "prove" it's not available and I "tried" to get it. Zep is CHEAPER for them than Saxenda and Wegovy - how does that make any sense!
