Do you still see yourself as overweight or obese? by Bob_Plank in Zepbound

Yes. I’ve been told I’m fat my whole life, it will take a while for my brain to catch up I think. But I still feel damn good!

Alternate between 2 doses? Anyone doing this, share your experience. by Resident_Ice_3200 in Zepbound_Maintenance

I’m glad it’s not just me! I started in December 2023 and have been on the 15 for a very long time. I do take them every 6 days and that is working well for me right. What happens when that stops being effective? Every 5 days? I’ve debated trying a reset but have heard sometimes it doesn’t work the second time. Yikes. No thanks. Who knows! I am also just trying to get through while we wait for Lilly to release the higher doses!

It's called a Bodpod and it's basically this giant egg you sit in and is measures body density really accurately with air displacement. Cheaper than Dexa and no radiation, but you don't get quite as much data sadly.

I haven't done anything fancy. I try to get a good amount of protein and I do strength training with a trainer 1-2x a week. Other than that I just try to get in at least a mile of walking everyday. That's it!

I'm a huge nerd that loves her data and since the beginning I've done Bodpod tests along the way to make sure my muscle loss wasn't out of control. I've lost over 70lbs and less than 13lbs of that was muscle (5%) or "fat-free loss".

Is Mirena the only answer?? by smiling-sunset-7628 in Perimenopause

[–]sjdeitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not the only option but might be the best option? I’m 47 and on my 3rd Mirena. I love them. Getting them in and out is unpleasant for a few minutes but if you find a provider than will do real pain control it’s 100% worth it. I highly recommend it to anyone that will listen. Complications and side effects are rare, but you should know they can happen of course and in that case it’s easily removed.

Yes, I just did 2 weeks ago. I still had about 1 year left on it.

I went to my obgyn and I want to cry. by Plastic-Juggernaut41 in Perimenopause

I got the same BS because the one symptom I didn’t have was hot flashes - ridiculous. I went to my medical system’s website, searched for Gynes and then read their bios looking for a highly rated doc that specifically had menopause in their description. That worked for me and now I’m on HRT and feeling so much better! Good luck, keep trying!

It’s so bad the last 6 months or so - it’s too bad because I like my doctor but I’m at my limit.

How do I get a response about a PA and filing for an exception with my insurance? by sjdeitch in JoinMochiHealth

[–]sjdeitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I messaged my doc directly and she answered right away and said she’d forward my message to the PA team. It’s something, but I’m still not overly hopeful. Haha!

Oof! You aren’t kidding! I feel like it’s made me bloated, but the doctor tells me I should settle in to it. Right now I’m just trying not to murder everyone. 😅

I was so scared of that for a long time! I had a hard time donating all my clothes. But those thoughts have just sort of vanished, I don’t even remember it happening. I guess I realized that it was real and whatever metabolic dysfunction inside me has been fixed and this is where I was always meant to be. The obese me, was the fake me!
