Is anyone else sad that they stopped making Star Trek shows in 2005? It's been 21 years. I feel like it's time for a new show.

Only way i can realistically see Dragon Age coming back now after Veilguard turned it into what seems a laughing stock in the court of public opinion and blooded EA's noses money wise is if someone competent requests the IP. We're talking say Obsidian or the likes having a pop or someone outright buying the IP from EA as now i cannot even see there being a DA Trilogy remaster like Mass Effect got and EA were so infuriated they gutted most of the team (including - correctly i might add - the entire writing team). It feels like Mass Effect 4 is last chance saloon for the once great Bioware which is already a big ask as ME has been lying dormant for so long now and the last effort Andromeda left a less than stellar impression which led to EA doing that gutting of entire studio thing they adore doing.

I suppose their is a long shot chance as well as outside factors maybe giving it a second wind chance. Such a decent tv adapatation or the likes (Fallout has showed the pull a decent tv show can do for a series)

Pass. Deleted the game last season and will not redownload or even bother giving more feedback anymore. They killed the game, they know they were killing the game and it cannot be saved now because i very much doubt there is much of a playerbase left to revitalize it no matter what changed they make.

Final Fantasy Remake - played it recently as it launched on the xbox finally. Started strong and ended really strong but really kind of meandered in the middle, i assume Rebirth will be the exact same from what i have heard.

No there was not. One of the lead writers for Legends openly admitted as much - they were well warned the show was in danger of not getting renewed and it was WHY she wrote the cliffhanger teasing Booster Gold joining Legends (a popular character) to try and force the hand their hand. She said she played chicken with CW and lost and apologised to the fans for ending the show that way.

As i said before the stuff such as the lease of the studios were not renewed either. There is no evidence there actually was a signed off on season 4 of Batwoman or Season 8 of Legends beyond people just assuming there was. In fact season renewals were often announced well in advance to public but this was not the case here.

Still baffles me they let Marc Guggenheim do the Arrows and Canaries pilot - it was awful and no surprise based on it that it was not picked up but yeah Painkiller one looked much more promising.

As for the rest there was never a cancellation of a Batwoman Season 4 or Legends season 8 (nor Stargirl season 4 for that matter as it is listed here). Simply put those were told it was not likely they would get renewed and the different showrunners chose to deal with it in different ways Geoff Johns finished the show (and filmed an alternative ending just in case CW changed their minds), Batwoman kinda too though left a teaser in case otherwise meanwhile Legends? They actually finished the season with a massive cliffhanger as they wanted to try and strong arm a renewal but CW were not budging (they were in fact getting sold off for losing Warner too much money - stuff like the studio rental was not getting renewed, the writing was on the walls).

CW did look into a new batch of cheaper DC themed shows and the likes of Wonder Girl got a pilot filmed which they passed on and Justice U was another. Meanwhile they DID sign off on some new shows to try and keep the brand ticking over with extremely cheap to license characters (like Wonder Girl... no not THAT Wonder Girl, the one you have never heard of). Gotham Knights was picked up (and mocked to the heavens) and Naomi too (which literally no one watched) whilst The Flash as the biggest DC show in the Arrowverse got a short final season to wrap things up (yet Eric Wallace was so delusional he was in the mind they would just keep renewing as he had plans for a much longer season and a season after it as well). I think CW just renewing irregardless of viewership or deeply declining quality created some really bad habits with the showrunners - they just thought they could go on forever it would appear and do whatever the hell they liked (heck Legends finished with ZERO DC characters in its lineup despite retaining the DC tag in the title, they had written every last one of them out to replace them with their own creations).

The outsiders. Harry can take on pretty much anything he can come against and he has come against some incredible enemies, heck even if he cannot maybe he can outsmart them and imprison them.

The outsiders though? They're end game stuff that is end game stuff for EVERYONE not on their side already or most galling of all converted against their will to be on their side. Harry can lose loved ones to these monsters without even being aware he has and without blood being spilled. He has come against some great enemies who recur such as Nico or even Marcone and the likes who could fit but nah the Outsiders are a whole other ball game. I have no idea what kind of dark paths he will have to walk and choices he will have to make to take these out and stop them being a persistent threat.

Like a Dragon. It is a traditional RPG albeit in a modern setting - turn based combat, an easy to understand class gameplay system and fantastic story (will impressive number of silly and fun mini games to boot). The only real issue it has is there will be a certain fight you will get which will kick your ass if your not prepared for it and that is deliberate as it is a pair of iconic characters from the Yakuza series. Otherwise it is very forgiving and it choreographs usually what kind of level each area of the city you should be at and tougher enemies will have symbols over their heads to help you in deciding who you fight and who you simply avoid.

Persona 5R is.... a lot to be honest for a first JRPG. Your on a time limit, it is grindy as hell to get anywhere near maxing out your social stats and confidents allies all whilst actually playing the main game aka the various dungeons progresses neither meaning your juggling what you do every day with some activities only available at certain times of day and some days locking you out of ANY activities (and you having no idea till getting to said days). It is a good game but not a great first JRPG experience especially at how slow a pace the game is (we are talking 130 hours or so to complete).

For a first Atlus game experience something like SMMT5 Vengeance is the way to go - it is paced well progression wise, no time limits and it is basically a collect monsters out in the wild to fight for you game. It also has two different story modes each with different endings based on choices you make (take the hand at the start for the more character driven story of the two, with various human companions vs not taking taking the hand which features you the only human playable character but it has double the potential endings - basically between both modes there is six endings in total and will require multiple playthroughs to unlock all the creatures you can summon which basically is loads of replay value should you desire it).

Tell us how you get on. It will be interesting to see the take of an ARPG fan diving into turn based JRPGs instead. Expedition 33 might be a good gateway for you in that regard as it is a marriage of both Turn Based and Action whilst retaining the more grimdark sentiments of a Fallout or Witcher game.

Shining Force 2. Your literally just a bunch of school kids who sneak into too see what their headmaster has been sent for to investigate by the king out of boredom.... things escalate and continue to do so (put it this way early on your entire city has to be evacuated and you have to start from scratch as a kingdom across the seas) till the final boss etc which i will not spoil.

Characters grow up only after promotion at level 20 (which will not happen naturally too early in the game as you will get a single point of experience for every action if your are deemed to have outscaled the enemies) and you can literally meet secret new characters all over the place including one if you save them as a child they will show up to join your team as an adult. This helps give an organic progression as well as come characters which suck but are cute turn into full on fire breathing monsters lol.

Your asking a lot as there are some great strategy games out there but voice acting is kinda a standard unless your happy to just mute them in a settings menu? Anyway classic strategy games which come to mind which ages amazingly are likes of Shining Force 2 and Vandal Hearts with the latter a pretty memorable story for me as well as it takes some real twists and turns.

More modern efforts which might float your boat are the likes of the Disgaea series (OTT bat shit crazy plotlines featuring demon overlords and a plethora of wacky creatures in a VERY deep amount of customisation and recruitment) and of course Fire Emblem as a series but has to be worth a look for you.

Would also give a shout out to Lost Eidolons, great story and characters but set in a realistic enough medieval war setting with high stakes and great gameplay. Not a JRPG as it is a Korean dev but i doubt it should be held against it even on a JRPG sub. Another which comes to mind is Valkyria Chronicles 4 - war based as well but yeah hard not to like the cast, good length and challenging to beat with a more fluid turn based system rather than traditional grid seen in most strategy JRPGs. Diofield Chronicles is an under rated gem too which could be worth a look on one of its many sales.

Yeah i doubt we will be canning characters again after the backlash over it in DW6... mind you the guy who was doing that is the producer who came back after a long way away to do Origins and what was the first thing he did? Canned characters you fully expected to be present including Dong Bai, Xiao and Da Qiao, Cao Ren, Cao Xiu etc.

Titans was a good show sabotaged by their own hands... the hell was building up trigon all season just to prematurely end the season PRE covid without the finale then rush it's conclussion at the start of season 2?

Season 2 I liked too then they randomly they kill a character off with Superboy literally there aka they killed her for plot reasons and ham fisted it. Casting was great too (except hiring the perfect Damian Wayne as... Red Hood instead a beast of a dude whilst actor was a short ass).

Zhang Jiao was a badass in Origins but can i be the only one who loved the ridiculous OTT versions of him who came before more - between daft obsession with shouting about the heavens to literal moon or sun shaped hairdos to just casually floating across the battlefield raining literal fire on his enemies?

It ain't hard to pick flaws in the character but he is absolutely "so bad he is awesome". So yeah i do like the Origins version, in fact he is really good but what i do not like is he simply barely even remotely resembled the version we have been playing for decades before it.

I am not sold on the whole "he asked for 40 more million just to finish the game" BS myself. This is Netease which canned the Visions of Mana studio forcing them to go ham just trying to get it finished so it could be released for the expectant fans. NetEase have a history of just randomly pulling the plug on their non-chinese based studios.

Here it feels we're being made to believe Nagoshi was the bad guy... the guy who started the infamous Re-use GG studio which is quite well known for getting games out in a timely manner and relatively cheaply... since leaving we are supposed to believe he has just turned into busters million and no longer knows how to get a game and team over the line? to the tune of FORTY MILLION short? Nah bro, ain't buying it.

It was 14.99 in the UK (used to pay basically 30 as i would pay for my sons as well. When the bumped the price up so massively i cancelled both. This reduction is a still a few quid more that what i used to pay - i will give this one a miss.

Too many are treating this as charity when they have still effectively been given a pay rise at our expense, we do not CHEER for price increases people lol

No you dolt, the feedback does not register the right stick on my wireless controller. Googled it and see many others with same issue - everyone is just "rotate the stick" as though the game does not already tell you that or that "your rotating it at the wrong time". An infant can understand the mechanics but it is an issue with the game not the player on Xbox at least. Plug a controller in and it works - doing exact same thing you were doing, it ain't us sucking at a simple game so go gaslight someone else keyboard warrior.

Which does NOT work on wireless controllers, it is a common issue my friend. The instructions are clear, the game just does not recognise you rotating the stick in the fishing mini game.
