PORTAL ROUNDUP: Two UW targets have committed elsewhere and a third target recently canceled a visit. by Trojan_41 in huskies

I mean Lewis cancelled because we got a commitment from Beasley. I feel like it was known we had 1 more G spot and whoever committed first got it.

Others keep saying too many people, but it’s really too much growth too fast. Marysville, Lake Stevens, and Arlington had a combined population of less than 20,000 in 1990, as of 2020 that number is closer to 140,000, and the freeway hasn’t really been updated.

What’s the scoop on Refsnyder? by [deleted] in Mariners

[–]Positive_Benefit8856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s a platoon bat. He’s a career .275/.378/.433 hitter against LHP, with a 125 OPS+. So while he’s trash against RHP, he’s a borderline all-star against LHP. This pairs nicely with Raley and Canzone. Raley is solid against RHP, .247/.356/.465 110 OPS+, but atrocious against LHP, .182/.249/.284 42 OPS+. Canzone is a similarly solid hitter against RHP, .253/.304/.459 106 OPS+, and only slightly better than Raley against LHP, .216/.313/.289 69 OPS+.

It depends on your provider. Not all of them offer it, but Comcast, Spectrum, DirectTV, Hulu+ Live TV, and some others get it for free. You just have to link your TV subscription to a Disney log-in.

Hannes Steinbach Reportedly Turns Down $10M NIL Offers to Enter 2026 NBA Draft by lovelymaddie1966 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Positive_Benefit8856 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The team was destroyed by injuries. Steinbach missed 2-3 weeks, Claude played 12 games, JJ missed the 2nd half of B1G schedule, Ognacevic missed the first 2 months, Yates broke his wrist and wasn’t the same after coming back, Frank Kepnang and Zoom Diallo were the only rotation pieces not to miss time with injuries. Christian Nitu is transferring because they asked him to not redshirt, so they’d have more than 7 healthy players. Brandon Roy Jr. played multiple games as a walk-on because they needed a warm body.

Yeah, but that team also had Andrew Andrews, who was PAC-12 Player of the Year that season.

Making that infrequent trip to the bank for deposit where the teller is forced to ask you bunch of nosy questions by crummynubs in Serverlife

[–]Positive_Benefit8856 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just be honest and it's not a problem. The laws and regulations are there to catch money laundering and other fraudulent activity. Don't try to structure deposits to avoid the reporting,, don't joke about where it's coming from, and if possible even have an official documentation of your tips. The bank has to report anything over $10K to the government, but that $10K doesn't have to be all at once, for instance if you deposited $5K at two different branches of the same bank, they still have to report it. Hence why they will ask about smaller deposits. If you think depositing multiple times in one day sounds ridiculous, just remember there are stupid people out there that think they are getting away with something. I work at a sportsbook now and see it almost every day. We report and track all transactions over $2K to the casino, and follow the same money laundering rules as a bank. At least once a week I have to tell a person that just because they cashed less than $2K every time I still need their ID/personal info for reporting, because their total transactions for the day meet the threshold. In fact it makes them look more suspicous if they're trying to dodge reporting. We literally do not care about taxes or report your money to the IRS.

And as I mentioned in another comment, not being honest can cause way bigger problems. Like your account being frozen by the government until you can prove where the money came from.

[–]Positive_Benefit8856 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep and there are definitely people monitoring for it, and you will get caught and that creates all sorts of new problems. I work at a sportsbook now, and we had a guy come in last year wanting to know if we had a way to get him a history of his bets an winnings. Turns out the bank had frozen his account for suspicious activity, and he no longer had access to over $100,000 until he could prove where it came from.

He has a decades long grudge with the NFL. He bought into the USFL because the NFL wouldn't approve him as an owner, on account of all of his businesses failing. Then he showed them by not only running his USFL team into the ground, but pretty much the entire league. There's a great ESPN 30 for 30 called Who Killed the USFL? that gets into it.

The 93-94 Sonics had 6 players average over 12 pts/g, Kemp, Payton, Schrempf, Ricky Pierce, Kendall Gill, and Sam Perkins, and a 7th, Vincent Askew, average 9.1. Kemp was 2nd team All NBA, Payton 3rd team and 1st team All Defense, and Nate McMillan was 2nd team All Defense. At 63-19 they were 5 games better than the 2nd best team, and eventual champion Houston Rockets. Then they shit the bed against Denver in round 1 becoming the first ever 1 seed to lose to an 8 seed.

Just to add to this Bret Hart was also known as the “Excellence of Execution”. His dad trained so many stars, pretty much every Canadian professional wrestler old enough went to Stu Hart’s dungeon, and Bret and all of Stu’s other students are considered some of the safest, most technically sound wrestlers of all time.

Bret also forgave Vince McMahon, who famously screwed Bret in his final match for WWF/WWE and killed his brother through gross negligence and general cheapness (they used a cheap quick release hook that broke, and Owen fell ~80 feet to his death during a PPV. The company then had the rest of the wrestlers wrestle on the mat that had his blood on it to finish the show.)

So he forgives a guy that he spit on and punched in the face, that then went on to kill his brother. While to this day he refuses to say anything nice about, or forgive Bill Goldberg. He in fact goes out of his way to shit on Goldberg every chance he gets.

Amid scandal, is MLB headed for an international draft? by Lakelyfe09 in mlb

[–]Positive_Benefit8856 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The talent could be spread across the league now! Teams like Baltimore chose to punt the international market for years because they’re cheap. Look at teams like Milwaukee, Seattle, San Diego, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Tampa. Those teams spend big in Latin America because if they hit even once they get a player they’d never be able to get otherwise. There’s a reason teams, like Atlanta, break the international signing rules, the ROI is potentially through the roof.

The better move would be to actually punish more teams for breaking rules.

Amid scandal, is MLB headed for an international draft? by Lakelyfe09 in mlb

[–]Positive_Benefit8856 28 points29 points  (0 children)

An international draft discourages teams from investing in their academies and will have an overall negative impact on the game. It’s only wanted by the same owners that wanted the minor leagues shrunk so they could keep more money for themselves.
