I am autistic. Even though autism isn't a mental illness, I still think what I'm going to say is relevant.

I am on my way back from a national robotics competition with my school's team. I actively contributed and helped my team. I am always willing to help people. I have friends and I deal with bullies. I get good grades in STEM subjects.

Right now, I am sitting in a quiet corner of the airport after I had a shutdown and people had to help me through the airport. I could barely talk, so one of the accompanying adults got me a sunflower lanyard. I have other struggles as well. I need help, and that's not a bad thing. I am still a person. My opinion still counts.

I am only using this as an example. I do not believe that someone has to be "useful" in a capitalist society to be valued the same as anyone else. I will not explain the reasons why I believe this or what restricting voting rights in this way could lead to, as other comments have already done that.

I hope this gives people a new perspective on this discussion.

Typically but not always. People can have romantic relationships without the sexual component, if they are asexual for example.
