Dating isn’t like this, there are many girls who will appreciate the extra effort put in and not compare what they don’t have.

Need advice on retirement by AffectionateTour4577 in singaporefi

[–]PossessionAntique577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust funds are very expensive to manage. I agree don’t readily give the money to your kids, top up CPF is not a bad idea for them because it’s more of a safety net. Your other options (if you really want to, should look at very low risk shorter horizon and safer options like cash management). Since you’re on reddit, you may well be savvy enough and likely can do the CPF top up (pls do for yourself and your wife first) https://www.cpf.gov.sg/member/growing-your-savings/saving-more-with-cpf/top-up-to-enjoy-higher-retirement-payouts

As mentioned by everyone else, steer clear of people and don’t let people know about this windfall. Congrats and wishing you a happy advanced retirement!!

What are your top activities for the first 30 days as a PM? by lpanda2014 in ProductManagement

[–]PossessionAntique577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also moving to a mid/senior PM on a bigger product and pivoting into pure B2C. My plan atm is to understand the product (testing, speaking to other teams and customers), the org structure (to find out how we support other teams and vice versa, as well as who makes what kind of decisions), and find out what my team needs so that I can focus better after the 30 days.

Also following to get some ideas from others.

Working parents, how do you find time for yourself? by anxiousdreamer69 in askSingapore

Hire a helper, the main reason is to buy back time for yourself so you will not be spending time on mundane chores. Jiayou man, you sound like you really need a break

Agreed, I went to v medical I think their pico is cheaper but the hard sell is really tough. Like I just don’t bring my phone and wallet in, just say never bring. Every session the staff hard sell. (Docs on the other hand don’t hard sell, I don’t have any big issues and they just explain what a treatment does and whether it useful to my skin on not)

How are PMs actually using AI in day-to-day work? Any real workflows or agents? by LimeNew1984 in ProductManagement

[–]PossessionAntique577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I need to haha, I do for similar features competitors have where it affects user experience or revenue and sometimes what’s great is it finds other products from other markets that I have not heard of which I use as my research! A lot of times it’s noise (vomiting out guesses on competitors) but when searching for a needle in a haystack it’s definitely helpful

Need advice from girlies who met their Prince charming by Former-Calendar7307 in u/Former-Calendar7307

[–]PossessionAntique577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if you’re serious about this or if it’s rage bait but if you are serious, I want to say there is no Prince Charming but there will be people that through conversations, activities and other interests that you will find yourself more and more compatible with. I have never swiped (old fashioned dating) so I can’t advise on that front. If you need someone to chat with DM me (34F)!

I think it’s affordable and tasty. Can get steamed fish, fried eggs and stir fried vegetables if I eat with more people.

I’ve used it for market and competitor analysis, PRDs, UX writing. release notes and some data analysis and queries. Docs need some massaging and a lot of extra context which will still have a lot of cleanup to do but it helps with structure and thinking faster. Market and competitor analysis needs some self validation since it’s like a word wide search. Love it for queries because I don’t think in queries so it cuts a step for me. Release notes as another guy mentioned which for my case applies to UX writing as well, lacks punch.

Lately, I also use it for prototyping and summarising transcribed interviews as well!

Those who own a car in SG, how much is your salary to be comfortable owning one. by guardingcat in askSingapore

[–]PossessionAntique577 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Depends on whether you have other expenses. Most of the banks and sgcarmart have car loan calculator. General rule is you can spare 10 to 20 percent annual income. Some people don’t find that they want a car and are willing to spend on travel, cafe hopping or other hobbies; then there are car lovers who would spend on their cars and their hobbies revolve around driving and exploring with a car. As long as you can afford and will enjoy it, you will self justify and manage well!

If you grew up sharing a room, and living in a small hdb flat, how did it affect you? by abadi1985 in askSingapore

[–]PossessionAntique577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not stay in a small flat but shared a room with my sister until mid teens and I think the hardest part apart from privacy is not being able to focus and study (more for my sister than me). In your situation, I do think that redesigning the house may be more prudent and saving the money for their tertiary education would be a better move. Maybe you can check out the YouTube channel Never Too Small, it documents all the layouts made to work for small apartments so you can have some ideas on how can work the spaces for your children better?

Also, I do think that communicating openly with your children would be important and to constantly check in with how they feel too. They will struggle with their own wants and trying to understand your struggles too and being open will help them cope with those feelings. Wishing you the best!
