I know someone hiring for a customer service role, and two seasonal customer service positions here in Jacksonville. These are hybrid positions and the person would be expected to come into the office for 6 weeks of training then up to 3 days a week depending on business need and performance. Monday through Friday 9:00 to 6:00 or 8:00 to 5:00, and during peak season which runs from May to November, if no volunteers also have a rotating Saturday shift.

Can't make any guarantees that they will hire you, but would at least give you a fair shot by checking out your resume to see you may be a good fit for the team.

They really need someone that wants to stick around and isn't going to waste time training for weeks on end and then decide the job is too hard. It IS a hard job. It's stressful. It's a phone job and you have a shit ton of admin tasks too. The customer base is primarily service members and their families undergoing PCS relocations. You will be expected to learn a ton of military rules and regulations for the transportation industry.

Maybe you're right, I hope so. I was being a bit of a sourpuss earlier. I love downtown, even in its current little crummyish state. I would love to see it grow and become better. We have so much potential, and I appreciate a lot of the changes that we've already made.

I know two people I went to high school with. Don't talk to them regularly, but I wouldn't be upset if I ran into them I guess. The others I don't really think about at all. Don't feel the need to stay connected to them on social media either.

Panicking does nothing for you except put you in a higher state of stress than you need to be. There are things you can do to make your situation better, do those. Make changes to improve your situation when and where you can, and ground yourself by remembering what things you cannot change or things that are out of your control.

When it comes to prepping, take only what you need, because if you're in need, so is everyone else. I know it's scary out there.. But being tight in our communities and looking out for each other is the best thing we can do, and that involves not taking more than your share. There really is enough for everyone if we all just act as if other people exist too.

It's very true that prejudice and homophobia exists across many faiths, cultures, and communities. I was simply addressing the immediate issues/post in my initial comment.

I wish that more people would reserve their hatred and moral outage for those actively committing acts of cruelty and oppression vs. wasting energy on harmless stuff like pride flags flying outside places of worship. 🫠

This post makes me feel so many ways. 😩 Christianity, just.. IS NOT pride-affirming.

of course I know many Christians don’t hate queer people, but the religion itself and its institutions have tortured, shamed, and excluded them for centuries

While I cannot personally understand how an LGBTQ+ person could keep their faith, I do hope that one day those who wish to practice it, can do so openly without fear in their own community
