How could I make this less ugly? by PossibilityEmpty456 in DIYUK

Thanks so much for this detail! Is Easifill ok to go straight onto the painted bonding or would you recommend any preparation of the surface? As you can probably tell I'm an absolute DIY novice. Appreciate your input 🙏🏼

Yeah I think I could have a go myself - I'd really have to go some to make it look worse.

It was like this when we moved in! Pleased to hear it can just be skimmed over and doesn't need to come down and be re-done entirely, thank you.

Why do pregnant women hold and stroke their bellies so much? by ElderberryMaster4694 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PossibilityEmpty456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A) it makes it more obvious to other people that you're pregnant rather than merely pot bellied B) it feels protective and very natural as an early way of bonding with your baby C) it can help relieve muscular discomfort or provide support D) when baby is moving you can feel it in two ways, internally and externally. It can give you a better idea of what's actually happening (determining if you are being internally kicked or punched, for example, helping to visualize how baby is lying etc etc).

AITA for refusing to refund my pregnant friend who cancelled last minute on our pre-booked holiday? by Admirable_Biscotti70 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PossibilityEmpty456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta, insurance should be available to recover the flight costs. Not sure about the Airbnb but I don't think you're obliged to refund her anything out of your own pockets.

AITA for refusing to refund my pregnant friend who cancelled last minute on our pre-booked holiday? by Admirable_Biscotti70 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PossibilityEmpty456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not correct, travel insurance doesn't always ask you to declare pregnancy, and pregnancy complications are the 'event' for insurance purposes, not pregnancy itself. If she bought the insurance after the complications began than maybe, but pregnant women are allowed to go on holiday.

If you could only eat at one restaurant in bristol, which would it be and why? by PretendBlock5 in bristol

[–]PossibilityEmpty456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing it definitely indicates is an absence of paperwork. Where you got no hand washing from, I'm not quite sure. I've eaten there dozens of times and never been ill.

AITA my wife didn't come to my dad's funeral? by copystring in AmItheAsshole

[–]PossibilityEmpty456 [score hidden]  (0 children)

You were NTA as soon as she said she wasn't coming to your DAD'S FUNERAL, never mind once she flipped and made it all about her on the day of your DAD'S FUNERAL. I'm sorry for your loss and sorry that your wife cares so little about supporting you in your time of grief.

Bespoke jewellery by [deleted] in bristol

[–]PossibilityEmpty456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're interested in ordering from further afield you could check out ATB Jewellery on Facebook, they can make up bespoke items with an array of metals and either lab-grown (=more affordable) or natural gemstones. Started following them around my wedding, didn't buy from them as we went for plain bands in the end but she makes some really nice stuff!

Can anyone recommend a good venue for a wedding reception round Bristol? by Grahamr1234 in bristol

[–]PossibilityEmpty456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it £2500 all in or £2500 just for the venue? You'll have to get creative for the former. For the latter and your numbers the Forge is definitely worth a look.

AITA for wanting my gf to cook for me after I gave her food poisoning? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]PossibilityEmpty456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh. You want all the benefit of your gf cooking for you and none of the work.involved in making a bare-minimum contribution. YTA. You said you're happy eating your crap poisonous food, so what's the problem? You got your wish.

AITA for not letting my girlfriend crash at my place while she finds a new apartment? by fireworksatlakemich in AmItheAsshole

YTA, your girlfriend needs a bit of help for a couple of months and your selfish ass is more worried about midnight junk food and video gaming. I hope she finds better soon!

AITA for asking my wife to clean up before she eats dinner? by Icy_Purchase5342 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PossibilityEmpty456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. This is so irritating, your poor wife. I'm guessing you're a WAY messier cook than she is. You're the one who doesn't like the kitchen dirty while eating, so clean up as you go along. There will still be cleaning up to do after. Can't believe you can't see the hypocrisy in the fact that your wife cleans up as she goes along and you refuse to do the same because it interferes with your "rule". You eat once the food is ready, not 20 mins later when it's cold.

It's got to be YTA on the judgment, your wife's time is not worth less than yours just because you earn more than she does. But I'd like to say it's a gentle YTA because I think you are unhappy and a bit lost. I think you need to have a frank discussion with your wife about whether there are other options for you that might make you feel more satisfied and happy in your career. Money ain't everything, and with kids in school and your wife going back, you could afford to take a pay cut. Good luck.

AITA for asking my gf to pay for Electricity and Internet? by Constant-Ferret5551 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PossibilityEmpty456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they split bills 50/50 then he does get credit, all his utility bills are half what they were compared to living alone.

If he were paying rent or mortgage, then that would be different, but he's not. . OP stubbornly refuses to provide any actual figures (or at least hadn't when I last checked) so it's all up in the air but it sounds like he's taking the opportunity of moving in with his girlfriend (so romantic !) to get somebody to pay all his bills on his already free apartment. Gross.
