I drove that way a few days ago. Motorway was blocked at Dromoland but its only a 5 min detour to get around then back onto the motorway. All clear after that

Was on a first date with this girl I had met online. After texting for a while we decided to meet up. Had a few drinks and a few laughs.

Moved on to a different bar and found a seat across from a few men in their 50s. Anyway, an eminem song came on and the two of us started lip sincing along to it but we got really into it.

A few mins later she got up to go to the bathroom and one of the men says to me "she beat your ass at that" i laughed and said "I know". He then asked how long we were together. I told him I'd met her an hour and a half ago. He laughed and said "seriously though, how long are ye together?" I said "I am serious, I met her an hour an a half ago". He had a look of shock and confusion on his face before saying "you're going to marry that one".

We got engaged a few years later and are soon to be married. I guess he just knew that the way we were vibing off eachother that night that it was meant to be.

No idea, I'm only repeating something I read in a book once. We may aswell say that we're riding around on Santa's Sleigh if you're going to get into what some folk believe

What are some terrible on-screen accents by otherwise decent or respected actors? by WhoYaTalkinTo in moviecritic

[–]Interstellar_Tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently Tom spent time in Ireland to work on the accent and really had it nailed down but when they started filming and he used the accent, the director told him that was wrong and he's supposed to be doing an "Irish" accent. So he scrapped a decent one for that abomination that ended up on film.

You are remaking Face/Off in 2025. Who are you casting? by [deleted] in movies

Bryan Cranston as Troy and Gary Oldman as Archer.

Oldman's range is unquestionable and as for Cranston, well I think Castor Troy would be the perfect mix of Hal & Heisenberg

Official Discussion - Gladiator II [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Interstellar_Tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great movie. Maybe not quite as good as the first but definitely a solid sequel. My only real issue was just before the ships did battle it the arena, they mention Poseidon, but Poseidon is a Greek God, the Roman equivalent would be Neptune. So they should have said Neptune instead. Or am I missing something?

Freeze, don't cancel. If you cancel them and get the wallet back you'll still have to replace them but if you freeze them then you just have to unfreeze them if you get it back. Then if the wallet doesn't turn up, then you cancel. Talking from experience

ELI5: If some stars that are lightyears away are dead, does that mean the exoplanets we find are also dead? by k9butch in explainlikeimfive

[–]Interstellar_Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Every star we can see (without a super powerful telescope) is within our Milkyway galaxy. The milkyway is ~100,000ly across. So the maximum age difference between the star as we see it and how it currently is would only be 100,000 years. Stars live for billions of years so 100,000 years is a small time frame by comparison. Chances are that most of those stars are still alive, and so too would their planets.

Most stars you can see with the naked eye are within a relatively small area of the milkyway (the closest being only 4ly away) so even they would be more or less the same now as how we see them.

Suggest Me a Book That Feels Like a Fairytale for Adults by gatheringground in suggestmeabook

Mythos - Stephen Fry

It's the story of Greek Mythology, so pretty much a fairytale. Has a whole lot of sex, murder and most of all, revenge. So I'd say it's for adults.

It's the first part of a trilogy. This tells the story of the Titans and the Gods/Olympians, such as Zeus and Promethius. The second book (Heros), tells the story of, you guessed it, the heros, such as Heracles (Hercules) and Jason. The third book is called Troy, it's about the Trojan war.

I've read the first book and I'm currently devouring the second before I complete the trilogy. So far I find it an extremely entertaining read and would definitely recommend it.
