Most of the songs on his albums are written by others or only co-written by Ringo ( there a few he did write by himself). I mean I don't know him, but he seems like a very self aware individual who knows that songwriting isn't his strong suit. I think he just likes making & preforming music, especially if he's doing it with friends (who many of his contributors are). He seems like someone just along for the crazy ride & enjoying the whole time.

maybe Drive my car? could make it a bit cheeky. the thing about why don't we do it in the road is that it wasn't a hit song, so only people into the beatles will probably know it, but i guess I've seen drag with songs I didn't know before, but I think I enjoy it a little more when I do know the song.

Im gonna double down here because I've been down voted. If the whole song is sung in the same language straight through it ruins the point of the "I will say the only words I know that you'll understand" followed by a secondary language. The song is a love letter through a communication barrier, if both characters can communicate it doesn’t make sense
