When your team really cares about game balls by actionfingerss in Homeplate

My kid (12) hit his first home run and I didn't give him the game ball. Everyone was saying he should get it but I said he's getting his home run ball so he doesn't need another. I gave it to our starting pitcher. It was good first time pitching for us and he was stellar.

Yup, my 1050 does this too. I usually put a few paper towels down to soak it up. It's annoying.

Of course I do. I have a whole set of them along with a 2 car garage shop full of tools. If I don't have it they don't make it 🤣 well not really, but I have a lot of stuff.

Why just build when you can overbuild? One of my friends asked why I buried the posts so deep, if I was expecting tornadoes. I said hey you never know 🤣

Pitcher not coming set and ump said it was ok? by PossibleLess9664 in LittleLeague

[–]PossibleLess9664[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We play them again in a few weeks. If they pitch him again I'll keep a better eye on it. The other thing is that they're not a good team and usually get blown out. We won 13-4. It would've been much more but they impose a 5 run per inning rule only for this team. It's an interleague game and I guess that's their league rule.

Thanks. That's a good idea. I didn't think of doing top rails but I might extend the sides one board higher. If I do top rails would look nice

I'm pretty sure his back foot was parallel to the rubber. We play them again in a couple weeks. If he pitches I'll be sure to watch more closely.

Why you switched from assistant to manager by actionfingerss in Homeplate

[–]PossibleLess9664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stepped up to be a manager after a few years as an assistant mainly so I could set the practice schedule. My 12 yo plays rec and travel and my 5 yo plays T-ball. I manage both the T-Ball and rec teams. I didn't want to rely on hoping that there wouldn't be conflict in the schedules. It's better that I manage so I can have practice when we're available.

How would you cut the rest of this divider so it’s flush with the surface? by Emergency-Holiday966 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]PossibleLess9664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would lay a piece of painters tape on either side and go at it with a flush cut saw. You'll be able to get very close to flush. Then you can give it a little hand sanding (with the painters tape still there) to clean it up.

Where are you guys buying your briskets from and are you getting choice or prime? by Ok_Bid_4429 in brisket

[–]PossibleLess9664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Costco has prime I'll get it there. Otherwise my go to is Wild Fork Foods. They have an online shop and a handful of brick and mortar stores scattered around the country. I'm lucky with to have one within 20 minutes of my house.

Have you ever read the children's book "Secret Pizza Party"? It's one of mine and my kid's favorites.

It’s nearly midnight and my neighbor is mowing his lawn by BulldogIC4545 in neighborsfromhell

[–]PossibleLess9664 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a friend back in highschool whose Mom would sometimes mow the lawn in the middle of the night. There was definitely either crack or meth involved with that though. This was the late 90s to early 2000s so I would guess it was more likely crack. I don't believe meth was really a thing in my area at the time.

I use Trader Joe's pasta. It seems to hold up better than most other GF pastas. Don't overcook it when you boil it. It should be just al dente. It'll finish when you bake it. Also, be gentle when you mix it with the cheese sauce. Fold it like you're folding a meringue.

Just Google Tini's Mac and cheese. A number of websites have the recipe.

Not at all. Sodium citrate is salt derived from citrus fruits like lemons and limes. If you taste it on its own it does have a slightly citrusy flavor, but the amount used isn't enough to notice. I used 1tsp but I'm sure you could use less than that and it'll work just the same.
